The Red House

Wake up to stunning mountain valley views! Our studio apartment is about 600 square feet and is located in the daylight basement of our home. The apartment has its own entrance, features a well-equipped kitchen & one bathroom with a tub/shower combination. The apartment includes an entry room where ski, snowboard or golf equipment may be stored. Picture windows and a warm fireplace complete the relaxing & cozy setting. Our family has enjoyed this farm for over a century; we now welcome guests! We are several years into the restoration of The Red House; striving to maintain its vintage charm. The house is easy to find; just one mile off Highway 395, five miles south of Chewelah. The Red House and blue silos are Chewelah area landmarks. Attractions near us include the quaint town of Chewelah, the Chewelah Casino, the popular Chewelah Golf Course, pristine lakes and one of the largest ski resorts in Washington State, 49 Degrees North. Our family enjoys snow skiing, snow shoeing, bicycling, motorcycling, hiking, fishing, swimming, kayaking and hunting. We're local people and we know what to do for fun, where to go and who to see. Trip back into time by visiting the little town of Valley, Washington and the historic Valley Store. Have an adventurous side? One may take in the entire valley with a bicycle ride down Farm to Market or Heine Road. Depart from The Red House for endless back road motorcycle riding. Hike Quartzite Mountain, take part in seasonal activities such as skiing, snowboarding, golfing, Chewelah festivals or tour the many lakes and rivers. Every season presents breathtaking panoramic views of the Chewelah Valley and surrounding mountains. Guests are likely to see an abundance of wildlife. Bring your car. The Chewelah area doesn't have much in the way of buses or Uber. We follow Airbnb's five step enhanced cleaning process, which is based on Airbnb's cleaning handbook that was developed in partnership with experts. We sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob.
