Seekers Cottage

Welcome to Seekers Cottage. Whatever adventure you seek, you will find it at Seekers Cottage. This country cottage sits on 2.5 acres of land surrounded by trees. It is peaceful and quiet. There are hiking trails across the street at the famous Backus Woods. There are ATV trails within a 5 min. drive. Long Point & Turkey Point beach are both a 10-15 minute drive away. Port Rowan is a 10 minute drive away where you can do antique shopping or grab groceries or even an ice cream on a hot Summer day! You will not have access to the storage room in the basement and the garage. Laundry is located in the basement and you will have access to that. The machines are old but sturdy! We do have a dog but have chosen to not allow other dogs due to the finishes of the cottage. People should be aware that our Dachshund Steve does come to the cottage on the weekends with us sometimes for allergy reasons. There is a property manager that is available from 9am-5pm (emergency property manager is available for after hours) We are located in Ontario's best kept secret, Norfolk County. Long Point beach is listed as one of Southern Ontario's best beaches. Port Rowan is a quaint town perfect for a day of exploring little shops and having a bite to eat. Our cottage is located next to Backus Mills Provincial Park which has a great pioneer village, perfect to explore. Backus Woods has free hiking trails. Horseback riding is near by as well as ATV trails. You can also check out some local brewery's and great local restaurants. There are also great antique shops as well. You will have to have a car to drive our area. It is recommended to drive if you need to go into town. We are located down a side road so winter driving can be tough but it is doable! Remember that you are in the country with no street lights so night time driving is dark and wildlife does come out at night (deer may cross the road) Cell signal is great but due to our beautiful trees all around the cottage, wifi signal is weaker than most are probably used to. We encourage you to turn your phone off and go explore the great outdoors! The laundry is located in the unfinished basement. Although she doesn't look pretty, it is clean and safe down there! The machines are dated but work perfectly fine!
