Holly House Apartment

1 Bedroom apartment in a beautiful historic home near WV Wesleyan Campus and Main Street. Great for families who don't mind close quarters and want to be self sufficient on their visit to Buckhannon. Full kitchen, private entry and lots of extra bedding and friendly down-to-earth hosts!! The apartment is one bedroom, one bathroom and a shared livingroom/kitchen area with other sleeping options. It offers a fully functional kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, oven/stove, sink area and cookware. While the appliances and the overall appearance of the apartment show general wear and tear, everything is comfortable, clean and functional. There's a queen size bed in the main bedroom and a double bed and futon in the shared living space. It's perfect as is for a family or group of 4, but can accommodate an additional 2 guests. Upon request, a twin roll away and a cot can be provided for an additional $15 per person per night. You will stay in the upstairs apartment with an entry around the left side of the house. You walk down a little sidewalk that leads to the side porch. Through the door and up a flight of stairs, you'll reach the upstairs porch with a lovely view of the neighborhood. The upstairs porch is yours to enjoy! As is the living area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. In the bedroom, there's a locked door that leads to our private home. It's locked from both sides to ensure your privacy as well as ours. Carolyn and Richard live downstairs, and Laura is just a phone call away. If you need anything at all during your stay, feel free to message us through the Airbnb app (recommended) or via our cell phone number that's provided. Both Laura and Carolyn can help! We live on a quiet dead-end street with a mix of old and new houses, but many of our neighbors have lived here as long as we have! There are children next door who ride their bikes and play in the street sometimes, so please drive slow. You may park in front of the house, near the little sidewalk stairs under the holly tree (not the driveway). There is no public transportation. You are walking distance to Jawbone Park and Main Street, and you are 4-6 blocks from West Virginia Wesleyan College. You are 25-30 minutes drive from Elkins, WV via interstate 33. The side yard is yours to enjoy, but the backyard is generally ours. Richard often works on construction projects back there, and our kitchen faces the backyard. The downstairs side porch (where you enter the stairs) is in transition as we renovate our personal kitchen and living room. We ask that there’s no smoking on the premises and we apologize for any inconvenience.
