Guests are welcome to stroll the orchards and gardens of the nearby Epiphyte B & B, use the tour desk, have coffee at the B & B lookout gazebo and use all facilities. Hibiscus Cottage is off-grid so relies entirely on solar power for electricity and rainwater. We have fans for cooling but ask guests not to use heating appliances like hairdriers. We ask guests to conserve water and power so we can stay sustainable. The Epiphyte B & B is a unique eco-accommodation house in the Daintree World Heritage rainforest, 2 hours north of Cairns near Cape Tribulation. Set atop a small hill and with spectacular views across the forest to Thornton Peak and the Alexandra Range. The hosts live on site so can assist you with anything you need. Check in is from 4pm until 9pm, earlier or later is possible by prior arrangement. The Epiphyte is just minutes away from tranquil beaches, boardwalks and visitor centers and close to (but quieter than) the busy tourism hub of Cape Tribulation. With open space visitor lounges and verandahs, spectacular views and en-suite double rooms with private balconies, The Epiphyte is the perfect place for singles, couples or families/groups. The Epiphyte has a well-equiped kitchen available for guest use, there is a great library, excellent hammocks and fantastic views. Room rates from $80/single or $130 - $150/double. The Golden Orchid Retreat (cabin) from $170/night for 2 people. Prices include a delicious tropical breakfast plus tea/coffee anytime. While there is no wifi or mobile phone access available at the Epiphyte, it is possible for guests to connect to Telstra mobile phone services (and data) just 300m away down the road.
