House and garden at the heart of Douro Valley, just 3 kms from Santa Marta de Penaguião and 10 kms from Régua. This is a green and fresh part of the Douro Valley, away from the dust and extreme heat of Régua and Pinhão. A Perfect Retreat! There are 7 houses in the village . You have to drive to Sta.Mta.Penaguiao to find a supermarket. These house is for those who want quietness and isolation. Landscape is extremely beautiful, drive slowly and narrow roads will not be a problem. Guests are welcome in all comun areas and kitchen. Guests have total privacy in the bedroom and ensuite private bathroom. Quim and Ana live at this beautiful retreat and love to share time and space with visitors. They both cook and look only for the very best products of the region to prepare meals, such as local organic meat and of course fresh vegetables from the garden. Guests are also welcome to cook and comun kitchen and use all outdoor facilities Ribeira D'Elos is on top of a hill in the heart of the Douro Valley, 10 mns from Peso da Regua. Just 5 kms from the village there is a river, with clear water where our guests can refresh. It's difficult to find us and very difficult to get here in public transport. There is a bus to Santa Marta de Penaguião that is 3 kms from Ribeira D'Elos. We have a transfer to and from Vila Real bus station or Regua train station for 10 euro. It is also possible to rent a car for 25 euro per day depending on availability. The closest restaurant is 2 km from our property. If you don’t wish to drive a mountain road in the evening, we can prepare a simple, home-made dinner, just with organic vegetables from our garden and our best local products. Quim needs to know the previous day and the cost is 14 euro per adult and 7 per child.
