Waterfront House, Macdonald River, Wisemans Ferry
Waterfront House is a beautifully appointed, spacious home on the Macdonald River, just minutes from Wisemans Ferry and the Hawkesbury. The house is a perfect launch pad for water-based activities including skiing, kayaking (8 kayaks provided + lifejackets), fishing or swimming, or just to enjoy being away from it all and surrounded by nature. It is situated near where Macdonald River enters the Hawkesbury and is close to a number of walking and cycling trails in Dharug and Yengo National Parks. Waterfront House sleeps 8 comfortably but it must be noted it is NOT SUITABLE for parties or buck's nights and we will not tolerate extra guests on the booking. We are situated in a quiet neighbourhood with children living next door. The double storied house has complete river frontage, reverse cycle air-conditioning, a firepit, wood-heater, free to air TV, two BBQs, Nespresso coffee pod machine and both indoor and outdoor eating and relaxing areas. There is a large range of books and board games for both adults and children to enjoy, a football table, and space for yoga, meditation or painting. The site features a small boat ramp (measuring 2.1 m high x 2.5 m wide) and a pontoon to launch a boat or canoe/kayak. There is a large paddock at the back of the house where horses and kangaroos graze. Featuring both luxury and practicality, this is the perfect spot for a river getaway for 1-2 families or a small group of friends. Guests can access the house through a coded locked box. The only space that is out of bounds is the locked upper deck. Your host is only a phone call or email away throughout your stay. Other than the mighty Hawkesbury River, renown for water sports, house boats and riverside eateries, WATERFRONT HOUSE is close to bushwalking and mountain-biking trails in the Dharug National Park. Wisemans Ferry is minutes away by boat or car, where guests can enjoy a cafe, art gallery, supermarket, kiosk, post office, tennis courts, golf course, bowling club and the Wisemans Ferry Inn. Lower Macdonald is 20 kms from the colonial settlement of St Albans and the historic Settlers Arms Inn. Waterfront House is accessible by car or boat. There is no public transport and vehicular access to Wisemans Ferry (and the closest shops) takes about 10 minutes and is via free car ferry, which runs 24/7. There is free parking for 4-6 cars. The two main bedrooms (upstairs) share a bathroom.
