Newcastle Miner's Gallery, unique inner-city home
We invite you to experience the creative vibe of Newcastle in our family-owned converted miner's cottage. Situated in the famous community of Tighes Hill, you will be uplifted by the beautiful recycled sandstock brick, luscious timber and locally sourced art and furniture. Cross the road to the craft beer specialists at Tighes Hill Cellars and beautiful Islington Dog Park - your dog is welcome. Enjoy the boho-chic vibes in our cosy cottage with plenty of winter sun and indoor/outdoor space. We are all about supporting local art and produce and have a variety of paintings from local artists including Jane Lander, Tony Langford, Ileigh Hellier, Michelle Brody and Sophie Cornish (mother of Abbie Cornish). The bus stop is just across the road and it is a short trip into town. Walk to Beaumont Street Islington/Hamilton for boutique shops, restaurants and cafes. You will have the entire cottage to yourself. We live very close and we are available if you need anything. The very popular Islington dog park and Tighes Hill Cellars (award-winning craft beer specialists) are just across the road. Equium Social has amazing cuisine and Praise Joes is another popular cafe. Plenty of pubs within walking distance including the Maryville Tavern and multicultural Beaumont street famous for Mediterranean heritage and dining is a 15 minute walk away. There is a lovely walking/cycle path from the house that runs along Throsby Creek to the foreshore and along the coastline. Buses run along Maitland Road with a bus stop just across the road on Maitland Road. Street parking is available. Check out our house manual for driving tips, bike and walking tracks and places to visit.
