Located in an area of gentle rolling countryside which is mainly arable farming land. At certain times of the year farming activities such as ploughing, harvesting, bird scaring etc take place, this is a delightful backdrop to the rural scene to many of us but we realise it won’t be the case for everyone. We are very lucky to be located in such a peaceful area, but sadly can’t guarantee total silence. Nearby, the picturesque village of Haughley has a post office, convenience store, Indian restaurant, great traditional bakery and the fabulous Kings Arms public house. The small town of Stowmarket is ten minutes away offering a wider range of shops, banks, supermarkets, cafes and the Museum of East Anglian Life. The market town of Bury St Edmunds is 25 minutes away and great for shopping, culture, theatre, cinema, gardens and award winning restaurants and cafes. Stowmarket Railway Station (10 minutes away) has good links to London, Norwich, Diss, Cambridge and Ipswich. The A14 and M11 are also within easy access, allowing fast links to London (90minutes). It’s an excellent base for visiting the picturesque towns of Framlingham, Debenham and Lavenham as well as many National Trust locations.
