Le Fil de l'Eau - Self-catering at Varaignes

L'étang des Mirandes is nestled in the heart of a 1 hectare garden. At the centre of it you will find our pond where fishing or just gazing is a favourite. We have 6 small lodges, each with a private terrace and overlooking the stream that runs along. The salt water pool is a must for lazy days and loads of things to do for children. Le Fil de l'Eau is a 2 bedroom lodge along the river. We love that it has two terraces, the one overlooking the river lets you enjoy the sound of the water flowing. - Open plan living - Master bedroom with a super king size bed - Second bedroom with twin beds (80cm) and a mezzanine with a single bed (90cm) - Shower room with toilets and wash basin - Two terraces - Garden furniture - BBQ We live in the house at main the entrance. Varaignes is at the crossroads of three departments. In the north of the Périgord vert, borders the Charente to the west and to the north, the Haute-Vienne . There are many memories of the Middle Ages in Varaignes. The castle (XIVth at the beginning of the XVIIth century) and the church were formerly joined by an underground passage. Les Recettes (now a restaurant) was the place where the locals paid the tax in kind they owed to the lord. The common mill and the common oven and Saint John's fountain, a wishing well are still standing. An old inn with its still visible sign "Loge à pied et à cheval". The old houses pressed against each other in narrow streets that climb the slope leading from the stream to the top of the plateau. On the Main Street you will find a grocery shop as well as a bakery. Ideal for long walks and hikes, cycling or mountain biking or just wandering around.
