Avignon is the closest, at 45 mins You can also get the Eurostar train to Lille, then the TGV train down to Avignon or Aix. On Saturdays there is a direct Eurostar train from London to Avignon that takes about 6 hours If you drive down from the UK, you can take a ferry across the channel. In clear driving conditions, it should take about 10 hours from Calais to the Luberon. From outside Europe, if you fly to Paris CDG airport, you can get a connecting flight to Marseille (1 hour) or get the TGV fast train to Avignon or Aix (2hrs 40 mins) There is virtually no public transport in Provence - car hire is essential
