A door across the corridor ensures your total privacy. Cosy throws, colourful cushions and books welcome you to your rooms. Children of all ages are welcome. Included in the price is a full English breakfast using locally sourced products wherever possible. This is served in the elegant dining room at a time to suit guests. Guests may also enjoy the charming garden, a must on sunny days. Araminta has had plenty of practice in welcoming her guests both at her home in Alresford and at her French house in La Cassaigne, South West France where her house is also available to rent throughout the year. A minimum stay of one week is required in France and longer stays are available.See Airbnb listings. Araminta loves what she does and feels that the personal touch is an important part of hosting and ensuring that her guests are at their ease from the outset. Children of all ages are welcome and Araminta is happy to baby sit if asked. Leaflets of the various local sites which can be visited around Alresford to make guests' stay even more enjoyable, are available. There are National Trust houses close by. In particular Hinton Ampner which is a short drive in the car and has lovely grounds in which to walk. I am always happy to be available when needed but also ensure that my guests have plenty of privacy. I rely on my guests to let me know if they have any further requirements. The house is set in a quiet courtyard, where silence prevails! You can even hear the hoot of the steam trains plying up and down the Watercress Line. You can walk into the centre of Alresford in less than ten minutes where they are restaurants and pubs plus a Pizza Express offering all types of different menus for your enjoyment. The Pulpo Negro, a Spanish Tapas bar is a recent addition to the town and is family run. The popular chef is Spanish so everything is truly authentic and cooked freshly to order. There is a new Thai Restaurant, which is a short drive away and also extremely popular. In addition there are two Indian restaurants that are much frequented and a further Thai restaurant in the centre of Alresford. The local hotels and pubs offer an English menu with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Araminta is happy to share her experiences of the local restaurants with her guests and make recommendations. There are regular buses to Winchester from Alresford High Street and many other destinations such as Alton, Guildford and Petersfield. The train station at Winchester 10 miles away goes directly to London arriving into Waterloos. There is also a direct train to London from Alton, 9 miles the other way to London. The M3 at Winchester allows easy access both to London and Heathrow Airport. Gatwick is easily accessed on the M25. 3 bedrooms two ensuite are on the first floor. The separately listed Airbnb Patio room is on the ground floor room, easy access for those who find stairs difficult to negotiate. The garden is also easily accessed by two sets of French windows and guests are welcome to use it.
