LOVELY COUNTRY COTTAGE

Cozy, newly-renovated cottage in the green hills of northern Piedmont. Located in the hamlet of Gauna, in the municipality of Alice Superiore, a 20 min drive from Ivrea, in the province of Torino (Turin). Close to hiking trails, lakes, the Alps, Turin and its castles, charming villages. Skiing facilities about an hour away. The house is comprised of a hallway with storing space, 2 bathrooms (with bath tub and shower), a very spacious kitchen, a living room/office, a master bedroom, a guest bedroom, and a reading area. In the back of the house there is a fenced-off garden; we also offer a laundry room in the basement. I live in NYC and so I'm rarely around, but one of my assistants will be at your disposal for check-in/out and during your stay. The hamlet of Gauna is located in the lush Alpine valley of Valchiusella. It is a tiny village of 50 inhabitants or so. The only shop in the village is a grocery store specialized in local cheeses, but also selling all food items of prime necessity. In the nearby villages of Vistrorio and Alice Superiore there are other shops, an ATM machine (in Vistrorio), gas stations, and restaurants; you'll find a list of them waiting for you at the house. The bigger towns of Ivrea and Castellamonte are within a 20 minute drive. Gauna can be reached by bus from Ivrea (Movicentro bus station, behind the railways station). Bus no. 4513 departing at 8:10am, 11:45am, 1:18pm, 4:45pm. Consult the website (URL HIDDEN) for updated times and variations. The house is equipped with wi-fi internet connection for your convenience. Given the rural location of the house, the speed of the service might not be always up to urban standards.
