It is ideal for enjoying and exploring the beautiful side of nature before spending relaxing evenings by the fire. Take time to relax - read, write, draw, think or just live and enjoy the company or be active - hike, bicycling.. The cottage really suits people who love the country cottage feeling and relaxed atmosphere or as a base for one day trips across Slovenija. This property nestles on a little hill, on the edge of a peaceful rural setting, dislocated from the settlement in beautiful natural surroundings between Zagorje and Radeče. A cute self-contained cottage nestled and surrounded by hills, meadows and forests, that surround the unspoilt valley of brook Sopota. It is located in a peaceful place at the edge of the forest. A place to rest your mind, soul and body, or maybe a starting point for vinery visits, hiking and cycling in the nature or site seeing. It’s a perfect get away if you are looking for a holiday place where you can leave the stress and everyday worries behind. For people who love pure nature. Cottage capacity: there are three floors, each floor 70 m2; together 210 m2 In the upper (first floor) there are 3 bedrooms (each has a king size bed) and a bathroom. The ground floor has an open concept living area (kitchen, living room), a slightly separated dining room and toilet. In the lower floor there is a secondary dining room that is connected with the terrace (outdoor). The outdoor area has a terrace with a barbecue, parking space and quiet a lot of grass surfaces. The village is quite a remote place, public transport exists but it isn't really that good. In case you’d need transport to and from the house - that can be arranged. Otherwise it’s reachable with a car. The nearest bigger town is a 10 min car drive away (Zagorje, Radeče). There are several opportunities for recreation. The landscape with its rolling hills calls for several excursions into the nature or hiking trails to mountain huts – the highest is Kum (1220 m), Čemšeniška planina (1204 m), Kal (985 m), Kopitnik (910 m), Zasavska Sveta gora (852 m), Gore (786 m), Mrzlica … , rock climbing routes- Renke in Sava valley, Čolnišče, Čerjan pod Kumom, Kotečnik…, boating and rafting (Sava, Krka..), riding (riding school), paragliding (Sveta Planina, Mrzlica) and angling possibility (Radeče– brown and rainbow trout). Thermal spa, wellness and swimming opportunities are short drive away (Aqua Park and Spa Rimske toplice, Terme Čatez….). Or just site seeing heritage trails and explore the countryside, interesting historic towns - Radeče, Zagorje ob Savi, Trbolje, Hrastnik…., castle ruins Svibno in Radeče, Mansion Dvor, Weixelstein Castle, castel Sevnica, Rajhenburg… and numerous chapels and churches (sv. Križ…). Healing thermal springs Rimske Toplice and Laško are a stone’s throw away. Well, something for everyone. LOCAL GROCERY SHOPPING The nearest grocery shop is in Podkum, cca 2,5 km from the cottage, within the local restaurant “Pr Cop”. Is it a small grocery shop were one can buy main necessary’s (basic groceries); 7.00 am to 21.00 pm (Sunday to 17.00 pm).The place acts as a post office too. A better stocked supermarket (Spar, Mercator) is in the settlement Zagorje (a cca 15 min drive in direction Ljubljana), and in the settlement Radeče (a cca 15 min drive in direction Sevnica). Zagorje offers a market with home-grown fruit and vegetables from local farmers on Wednesdays and Saturdays. LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND CAFES The restaurants in the surroundings are known to use freshly picked ingredients - mushrooms, blueberries ... from the surrounding forests and fresh products from local farmers. RESTAURANT “PR ČOP” In Podkum is the restaurant “Pr Čop” were one can experience a unique culinary experience. The owners, the youngest chef in Slovenia, motto is "from field to the plate" - a combination of original Slovenian cuisine and modern cuisine. RESTAURANT “CELESTINA” Just a good km away, in direction Radeče, is the restaurant Celestina which lies in a beautiful nature surrounding and offers good homemade specialties - fish, venison, vegetable dishes...They are known for their special way of preparing Trout. I recommend walking to Celestine and back, it feels good after a perfect meal - always a lovely walk in every season.
