The Fern: Double-story Luxury Suite w/Terrace

Welcome to the Fern, Australia’s first certified Passive House apartment building. Tucked away in Sydney’s Redfern/Eveleigh/Alexandria triangle this two-story executive apartment is a cocoon-like haven in proximity to major event precincts, parks & eateries. Taking thoughtful design to another level, every decision and detail in the Fern has been considered in terms of liveability, and impact on the environment. Featuring a private terrace in the sun, it’s the perfect home away from home oasis. Entering on the first of the two floors, step inside the indoor-outdoor open plan living and dining area. Enjoy bright interiors aided by high windows spilling in natural light with motorised retractable blinds, filtering sunlight as you wish. Wander out into the private terrace and bath peacefully in the Sydney sun. The roomy living and dining area yields plenty of space to sit, study, rest and play. Lounge atop the sofa in front of the TV overlooking the private terrace. The triple-glazed glass, motorised retractable blinds and filtered purified air system will guarantee optimal peace and quiet. Note there is no aerial for free to air channels, but you can live stream your high quality apps directly through the Chromecast) from your own devices. Homemade meals are made easy in the state-of-the-art kitchen with Smeg oven, microwave/grill, and induction cooktop. The large dining table provides plenty of seating and entertaining space for you and your guests. Upstairs, you’ll find both the generously sized bedroom and bathroom to wash up and rest up perfectly after a long day. The bedroom features a king bed fitted with hotel-quality linen, ample built-in storage space, shut-out blinds and pops of sublime, one-off local artwork. With triple-glazed doors and windows throughout, as well as acoustic dampening woollen curtains, enjoy a good night’s sleep in complete peace and quiet. Also featured in the bedroom is a large workspace. The pristine, double-sink bathroom comes stocked with eco toiletries and plush towels amid premium stone finishes, including a full size luxury stone bath to soak in. Built-in laundry & ironing facilities are also handy additions for your stay. During your stay, you will have the entire space to yourself, including the terrace. Please make yourself at home! A playground of opportunity awaits with all of Sydney’s rich culture at your doorstep. In under 10 minutes, discover a plethora of treasures ready to tick off the to-do list, like lush parklands along with trendy cafes and prominent bars. Other treats to enjoy and explore include pools, art galleries and local boutiques that make up an integral part of Redfern’s unique charm. The South Eveleigh area also provides a vibrant, green landscape teeming with play spaces, innovative technology precincts and charming retailers. Eveleigh’s farmers market held each Saturday brings the best of farm-to-table table to local shoppers each week. Within a few minutes, you’ll also reach the art hub Carriageworks and major company headquarters like CBA or Channel 7. Heritage-listed, but still operating like new, Redfern Train Station is less then 300 meters away, with trains going straight into the city. There is also a bus stop directly outside the apartment building. The airport is about 15 minutes away by car, or 25 minutes by train. There is no designated car space, however there is time restricted parking in the area. Please read and respect the house rules. This is very much appreciated, thank you! Before your arrival, we will also share a house guide that contains instructions on how to access the property, use certain appliances, and anything else you may need to know. ~ Passive House? ~ So what is the Passive House Standard? It’s a rigorous, scientific method of building high comfort, low energy homes of the future. The Fern is therefore amongst others solar-powered, and designed to be airtight, super-insulated, with 24/7 filtered fresh air – meaning the internal temperature can be regulated without artificial heating or cooling to maximise comfort. ~ Pet Stays ~ We are pet-friendly - just let us know about your furry friend at the time of booking so we can assess if the space is suitable for them. To cover extra cleaning, please note our pet fee: $50 for 1-6 days stay / $100 for 7+ days stays, which will be added to your total reservation amount after booking. If you are bringing your pet and tick pet option in Airbnb, it will show no additional charge, as we charge this fee separately based on the two pet fee price structures above. We will send it through as a separate additional fee. Please note if you have more than one pet, please check with us at the time of booking, as some owners would prefer a max of 1 pet per stay. ~ Linen ~ Please note that we supply just the one set of linens for each stay, regardless of the length of the stay. We use a linen service which includes professionally laundered and delivered linen and this is already includes as part of your clean fee’ Any extra linen requests during your stay comes at an additional charge + delivery. ~ Parking ~ The fern building does not come with dedicated parking, however there is free street parking directly outside the fern building, and on nearby streets (ranging from 2hr limits during business hours, to free overnight after hours).
