Welcome to the Nathaniel Inn, an upscale vacation rental in Central Virginia! Located on Historic Main St in Gordonsville, about 30 mins north of Charlottesville, Va.. We are a great base of operations for all your central Virginia travels including, Monticello, Montpelier, Ashlawn, UVA and the surrounding wineries, breweries and distilleries. The circa 1874 house is newly renovated throughout with modern amenities. We are an easy walk to downtown Gordonsville for nearby restaurants and shops. The Inn (and our cottage next door that is also available for rent) is named after Nathaniel Gordon, the founder of Gordonsville who used to operate a Tavern and Inn in the ~1700s. The Gordon Tavern catered to the likes of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and the Marquis de Lafayette and other travelers along the busy stagecoach route that is now Rt. 15. We pay tribute to him in this historic home with some throw back items of his time and welcoming those traveling to there area once again. The Nathaniel Inn is an upscale vacation rental and is composed of four bedrooms, three and a half baths, an office, living room, dining room and kitchen. We want your stay to be as pleasant as possible so please let us know how we're doing. The house has been thoughtfully redesigned with your comfort in mind. The bedrooms are luxuriously appointed. We provide all the touches you would expect in an upscale hotel including morning coffee or tea, bathroom toiletries, plush towels and comfort plus mattresses. We are committed to our safety and yours during this global pandemic. We have implemented heightened cleaning and sanitation practices. To do this we: - sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob - use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination - clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists - provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay - comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines - use single use gloves and masks when cleaning to prevent cross contamination - due to our commitment and increased cleaning times, we are unable to accommodate early check-ins, sorry for the inconvenience. -we are fully inspected and licensed by the Health Department. There are three independent suites within the House, the William Routt (one king and master bath), the Mary Beale (one king, sitting area, desk and master bath) and the Nathaniel House (the two story with king bedroom, dual twin bedroom upstairs and full bath). On the main level there is the foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen and rear lobby. The kitchen is brand new with all appliances, amenities and is stocked with all the cookware you need to make a nice meal. We have an ice maker for your convenience and to make it easy to pack a picnic lunch (great for visiting wineries), look for the soft sided cooler in the kitchen. The dining room has seating for up to 8. There is a front porch for you to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon refreshments. We have a digital key locks throughout for easy entry. You'll get a unique code sent to your email prior to check in with instructions for entry. There is an office upstairs that is flooding with light from the big windows and has a comfy chair to sit in and read your morning news and sip your coffee. There is ample parking on Main Street and around back with access to the front or rear of the house. When rented with the next door Cottage, we are able to host your group easily but please be courteous to the neighbors. There is a laundry room at the back of the house with separate code key entry. There is also a shared backyard where you can mingle with other guests or sit with a book under the tree. My husband and I live just a few miles away and are available as little or as much as you need during your stay. Gordonsville is an up and coming Main St location. You can easily walk to the shops and restaurants in about 10 mins. Check out Krecek Kakes for a breakfast sandwich or daily quiche with morning coffee, then head over to Castle Hill cider or Keswick Winery for some cider and wine tasting. Maybe check out the historic presidential home of Thomas Jefferson at Monticello in Charlottesville. After a full day of touring, come back and unwind on the front porch for a cup of afternoon tea then head over to a casual BBQ dinner at the BBQ Exchange or get dressed up for a date night at the French Restaurant Rochambeau (with new Michelin Star Chef). The next day soak up a big diner style breakfast at Inwood before another day of sightseeing. If you're in the mood for more adventure, check out a kayak trip on the Rapidan River or a hike in Shenandoah National Park. There are lots of things to do around town! Gordonsville is located about 30 mins north of Charlottesville, an easy country drive past area wineries and farms. Both Lyft and Uber service the town, just be sure to request your vehicle 30 mins before your desired pick up time so the driver can get to Gordonsville from Charlottesville.
