Rockpool is a 200 year old fisherman's cottage, set back a few yards from the seafront, with sea views from the front door. It provides all modern comforts, whilst retaining its traditional features. The wood burning stove together with the Rayburn, ensure the cottage is warm and cosy all year round! En-suite bathroom and cloakroom. Dogs are welcome and can be accommodated in an outside shed with secure run behind the cottage. Unfortunately, they are not allowed inside the cottage. Cosy cottage on 3 floors, with a lounge/dinning area, kitchen area (open plan), double bedroom, twin bedroom. Old fire place with log burning stove. Logs provided for the first fire, thereafter available from local garages in Banff, Fraserburgh etc. Raeburn for heating and hot water. Each room has a radiator. Main bedroom has en-suite bath/shower, wash basin in second bedroom (twin beds) and cloakroom on ground floor. We provide books, DVD’s (including Local Hero!) and have paintings/local photographs on the walls. All digital channels available on the TV. External shed with washing machine/tumble dryer. Good secure spacious accommodation for dogs if required. Seating on patio. All rooms can be accessed, except one cupboard which is marked as private Easily contactable by e-mail and mobile phone Wonderful food at Garden Inn in nearby Gardenstown village (3 miles). Picturesque harbour; expansive beach front promenade; accessible beach, with rockpools at low tide. Harbour cafe open summer only (outside seating). Nice walks including from Pennan to New Aberdour beach (sand and shingle) with caves to explore. 3 miles by public footpath, over the cliffs. Other walks including Moray Coast path and Speyside Way, not far away. Aberdeenshire is well known for its castles and whisky distilleries, all within reasonable driving distance. Several golf courses within 15 miles radius including the beautiful Duff House Royal at Banff, situated by the tidal estuary of the river Deveron. Sea fishing trips available from Gardenstown, or fish from the beach at Pennan. The coastline is ideal for the adventurous sea kayaker or you can launch your own sailing/motor craft from the Pennan harbour slipway. Cliff top and beach front walks, car advisable. Buses at the top of the village (8 minutes walk), but check times, as they are not frequent. Please be advised, whilst dogs are welcome, they are not allowed in the house. There is an enclosed large utility shed behind the house with a dog bed and safe outside access. Free parking on street outside the cottage, or in free car park 50 metres away at end of village.
