Quinta Nova (1) House is a single floor familiar house, with plenty of privacy and confort. If needed, there's a garage for 1 car parking. Around the house you'll find a small but beautiful garden with all sort of flowers and local trees. As it's located near the city centre, guests are free to enjoy the city spots when they wish, just by walking... the best way to discover the town. A few minutes from the house you'll find the world famous Alcobaça Monastery - UNESCO monument - a must to see. Alcobaça has a priviliged location, near a couple of famous beaches like Nazaré ...I'm sure you've heard about the "giant waves of Nazaré", and a beautiful quiet bay named S. Martinho do Porto. In a single day travel you can visit Batalha Monastery and Convento de Cristo Monastery, in Tomar, both of them awarded as UNESCO monuments. All this region is famous for its world class products, such as, wines, fruits, fresh local fish, ceramics, glass artifacts and, if you come in mid november, don't miss the annual convent sweets fair. It's a must !!... You can also visit Fátima, the beautiful caves of Mira de Aire and some castles around like Óbidos, a famous lovely fortified litlle village you shall not miss. Where else in the world can you get simultaneously famous monuments, warm sunny days, cultural events, excelent food, beautiful nature spots and warm people to welcome you ? I'll be happy to give my best hints to all my guests so that they can really enjoy their stay. Guests are welcome to access the whole house. Enjoy the living room, the library and the outside garden. I'm at your disposal to give you any kind of pratical information needed. The house is prepared for handycaped guests such as ones who need the help of a wheelchair. Quinta Nova (1) house is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood at Alcobaça's center village. There's almost no cars in the sorrundings and you can walk around in the garden, watch the birds and apreciate their songs. All main spots in town, like Alcobaça's monastery and historical sites are about 10 mins walk from the house. Alcobaça is a small city about 100 kms north of Lisbon. If you travel by car, you can take A8 highway from Lisbon. There's an exit directly connected to the city. You can also reach Alcobaça by bus: just pick an express bus at Lisbon's central station in Sete Rios. There are several buses per day. From Lisbon airport you can get Sete Rios bus station easily by taxi or by subway. In Alcobaça, either you can walk or pick the small local buses that can drive you to all spots of the city.
