A stunning, well-maintained family house situated right on the water's edge with panoramic views of the inner and outer harbour. There is a pretty walled-garden with unique port-holes to spy the boats coming and going. On the first floor enjoy a seat on the balcony and watch the cormorants fishing as you eat breakfast. Sea views from the master bedroom, 5 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and amenities. 10 minute drive into town offering a large choice of restaurants, bars and shops. Spindrift is a modern townhouse located in the tranquil Sovereign Harbour near Eastbourne. Opened in 1993, Sovereign Harbour is northern Europe’s largest marina complex with four linked harbours and the very popular Waterfront retail and restaurant development. The property is within 10 minutes walking distance of the Waterfront with its shops and waterfront eateries. Eastbourne is located on “The Sunshine Coast”, so called as it has more hours of sunshine than anywhere in the UK. Leaflets are provided to help you enjoy this lovely town, it’s beaches and countryside . The South Downs National Park is just a few miles to the west and the villages of Pevensey, Battle and Rye are waiting to be explored to the east. The centrally-heated house is set over three floors and sleeps up to six people. It has a decked balcony opening up from the sitting room area on the first floor with fantastic views over the marina. The sitting room has a smart TV and 2 comfy sofas. There is off street parking for two cars, directly outside the front door. The house sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms. On the second floor the master bedroom has fabulous views over the marina, a king sized bed and smart TV. There is an ensuite shower room with a power shower. On the first floor adjacent to the living room is a double room tastefully furnished with hanging space and a comfortable double bed. The 3rd bedroom has a seaside/sailing theme and is furnished with sturdy bunk beds, top bunk having a safety rail. There is also a family bathroom with full-sized bath and power shower over. Downstairs is the modern dining room/kitchen, with views over the harbour and doors opening up to the garden room and the patio beyond. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, single oven with hob and fridge freezer. There is plenty of cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery. There is a cloakroom situated on the ground floor. I provide hand soap in all 3 bathrooms and in the kitchen. For your peace of mind in this pandemic I follow Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process. The house has to be aired and thoroughly sanitised on change over days. This is why the check-in and check-out times cannot be more flexible. Here are a few highlights: I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknobs I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination I refer to cleaning checklists to thoroughly clean each room I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay. Whole house and garden. Guest self check-in. Chris is available via mobile phone. The marina has a real holiday feel to it even when the weather is not great there are things to do and see. It’s a short walk from the house to the Waterfront restaurants and retail park. There is a big Asda, Boots, Next, TK Maxx, Matalan and Wilco. The restaurants include the family run Thai Marina which is excellent but pricey; the Harvester which is good for families and dog friendly; Pablos which has good Pizza; The Four Seasons is reliably good value for money and does nice Sunday lunch; the Italian can be good but a bit hit and miss. The cafe is great for breakfast. The Garden bar is a bit rough but ok for a drink. Seymours is popular with the fishermen and sailors and has a good, sometimes rowdy, atmosphere. Fish and chip takeaway is ok, nothing special. Most of these places have outdoor seating and there is nothing better on a sunny day than sitting outside with a drink and enjoying the view. The harbour has a very continental feel to it! (For more recommendations for restaurants/pubs/sightseeing see my online guestbook). Bus into town no. 5A from Atlantic (Website hidden by Airbnb) Train from the roundabout near the Martello tower (end of Prince William Parade) goes all the way along the seafront to the pier and beyond. Bus 99 to Bexhill and Hastings from Princes Road or Pevensey Bay Rd, opp. Asda. £8 -9 in a taxi into town. It will be easiest for you to park outside the house rather than in the car port opposite which is very narrow.
