Peaceful self-contained bungalow near the beach

Mosey up the garden path and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautifully appointed self-contained bungalow. Perfect for a quiet getaway, to visit family locally, attend some of Melbourne's many attractions, or for a longer term stay. We are located a 15-min walk at my pace (or 10-min walk at my wife's pace) from Altona main beach and Pier Street, 10-min walk to Harrington Square and a 30-min train ride to the CBD. A great base from which to explore our beautiful beaches and city. Newly renovated, our open and airy studio space is situated at the end of our garden with everything you need for a shorter or longer term stay. There is a separate entrance down the side of the house. For your comfort we have: - Double bed - Kitchenette with basic cooking facilities - tea, coffee, microwave, cooktop, fridge - A basic breakfast will be provided for stays of two nights or less - Separate ensuite bathroom with shower - Free WiFi - Split system air conditioning and heating - Linen provided - Washing can be done on request in our house (within reason), and there is a launderette within walking distance if needed for longer stays Our garden is our happy place. We have a toddler so are often outside exploring. I am a keen gardener and will potter about out of working hours. We are more than happy to share our outdoor sitting area and garden with you. *please note there is no TV ** access to the bungalow is down a narrow path and there are two steps up into the bungalow itself. Unfortunately this means it is not suitable for wheelchair users and it may be more challenging for those with mobility issues. We're more than happy to chat to you about local attractions, places to go, eating, drinking and everything in between! If there is something missing, please don't hesitate to ask, it might just be a simple fix! Just catch us in the garden or give us a bell and we'll be happy to help. We are situated 10-15 minute walk from Pier Street which has an abundance of restaurants, cafes and amenities. Many new places have opened in recent months and are well worth a try! Harrington Square is a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction and is home to some fantastic cafes if you wish to have a leisurely breakfast or lunch. The main attraction of Altona is its beach. Child friendly shallow waters with lifeguards present during summer, it's the perfect spot for a family holiday. Paddle Board hire is also available from the beach in the summer months and lockers can be hired for $5 per day to keep your valuables safe while you're off having fun. We are in close proximity to Williamstown which has a beautiful beach and plenty of heritage to explore. Altona really is a fantastic community and is a great base from which to explore Melbourne and beyond. Altona is within easy driving access of the freeway toward Geelong and the Great Ocean Road. Trains to the CBD run regularly throughout the day from both Altona and Westona Stations (both within easy walking distance) and there is a bus stop in very close walking distance to our property. If you are flying and require transport from the airport, please let us know prior and we may be able to collect you if we are available for a nominal fee.
