Bright and cheery bungalow for 5+ cot with a cosy wood burner and a suntrap garden, set in a quiet friendly village with a good pub. There are lovely woodland walks on the doorstep and Fowey, Eden project and fantastic coastline minutes away by car. The bungalow is bright and breezy in summer and cosy in winter. There is a suntrap garden (well stocked with herbs and a few veg for you to use) with BBQ and big table on the decking great for al fresco suppers and stargazing at night. Inside is spacious with an open plan lounge diner with log burner and logs provided. There are plenty of games, dvds, books and maps and squishy bean bag and sofas. There's a sunny super king overlooking the garden and opening onto it, there is enough space for cot/childs bed and it has a big wardrobe and plenty of drawers. A comfy single with drawers and hangers and a second futon floor mattress for an extra child. The second double is a futon with comfy memory foam topper and side drawers. Good size bathroom with overhead shower and plenty of hot water. Second loo next to hallway. The kitchen overlooking the garden is fully equipped and a cupboard/shop stocked with a wide range of dry stuff...rice, pasta, tins, jam etc for you to use and a price list with an honesty box if you do! So you don't have to worry about bringing bags of food with you! The basics like oils, vinegars, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, salt, pepper and a wide range of spices, flour, cereals etc.. is free for you to use and the big fridge freezer may also have stuff you can use and some local milk and butter for you on arrival. All laundry and cleaning products used are ecological and I like to keep the use of chemicals to a minimum. The house and garden are all yours for the duration of your stay apart from one small store cupboard. There is parking for 1 car on the drive and 2 more on the road. More often than not you will be greeted by my lovely friend and housekeeper Denise who lives a 2 minutes walk away. And if I am around I will be staying close by in my caravan! We are both very friendly and approachable and can recommend the best eateries, walks etc.. and be on hand if you need us. If we aren't around when you arrive then there are instructions for letting yourself in and full instructions for things like working the tv etc.. And a guide to the best places to go, places to eat etc.. Tywardreath is a great little village with a community feel and a pub with good food and music. There is an excellent butchers and a small community shop and an organic artisan bakery in Par as well as Havannas the best homemade pasty shop in Cornwall! Only a few minutes away is the picturesque town of Fowey with it's stunning harbour views and riverside walks such as the 'Hall walk' to Polruan and back across on the ferry. Lostwithiel is close by with eclectic shops and eateries and pubs. The nearest beach is at Par which is big with sand dunes great for doggy walking, and from there a 20 min walk round the bay brings you to Polkerris with it's family friendly beach with watersports and pizza restaurant and pub where you can enjoy a few sundowners. Further round the Gribbins wild headland brings you to some hidden coves such as Polridmouth which was the setting for Daphne Du Mauriers 'Rebbecca'. The area is abound with inspirations for her books... the ancient hillfort of Castle Dor is just outside the village and the village itself was the inspiration for her 'House on the strand' The unmissable Eden project is just 3 miles away and there are Lovely walks in ancient woodland around Luxulyan valley. There is a bus to Fowey from the village and the mainline station of Par is a couple of minutes walk away for day trips to St Ives, Penzance, Truro, Newquay. Newquay is the nearest airport and does car rental.
