MayneWave is an historical beachfront log cabin (1900), on Mayne Island named for its proximity to water. Waves on the beach and a seasonal stream in winter. A superb location on Miners Bay beach and a short walk to the heart of Mayne Island. -100 m along beach to Springwater pub -300 m to village with Das Nest Restaurant, bakery, two grocery stores, liquor store, gas station and others and historical sites. Your host, John, lives in the main house on the property. The cabin is adjacent to the main house but has good privacy. John is available by text 24/7 or knock on the door. Morning coffee to your taste, from an Italian espresso machine, is free on request. Any issue affecting your stay can be quickly addressed by your host. The location is steeped in history and has been the site of human habitation for 3 millennia. It is easy to be entranced by imagining the past. The location also brings into focus the rhythms of our world and our synergy with nature. Wildlife abounds. 100 m along beach to Springwater pub 300 m to village with Das Nest Restaurant, bakery, two grocery stores, liquor store, gas station, historical sites and site of live concerts in the summer. The property is 1.6 acres with expansive lawn orchard and vegetable garden. Explore Miners Bay and beyond with the kayaks available for use. Also electric bikes are available to rent from an outlet 300 meters away. The island is small enough to be walkable. Groceries and liquor and bakery, farmers market in summer, live concert venue and two restaurants are within 5 minutes walk The host will provide rides to and from the ferry terminal if needed..
