Enjoy this self contained, comfortable cottage set in the gorgeous garden of Granny's Apple Lodge where you can enjoy forest walks or cycle rides from the doorstep, returning to relax on your patio or in front of the cosy log burner. The garden wildlife can be viewed from the warmth of the conservatory or the super comfy bed. Gloucester, Chepstow, Monmouth and Ross on Wye to name but a few are all within easy reach for exploring. The Annexe @ Granny's Apple Lodge is a stone cottage, all on one level, has an open plan, well equipped, high quality kitchen diner/ living room with a cosy log burner to enjoy on colder evenings leading to a conservatory which is a lovely place to relax, read a book, watch the wildlife or have a snooze. There is a super comfortable king size bed with quality bed linen and separate shower room. The patio outside the property, for your personal use, has a garden table and chairs as well as a lockable store for bikes. You are welcome to explore the garden up on what was the old railway line and sit and enjoy the views across the valley. Free off road parking for one car on the property. Bus stops are situated on the A 48 within a 5 minute walk. Lydney train station is 3 miles away where there is free parking. As we live on site we will be around to greet you, hand over the keys and answer any questions you may have. The patio and grass area in front of The Annexe @ Granny's Apple Lodge is for your personal use but the garden beyond that is shared with us, our friends and family. As well as the delightful Forest of Dean tracks and trails to explore on foot or by bike there many other local attractions which include: Symmonds Yat, Westbury Gardens (National Trust), Tintern Abbey, Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, Perrygrove Railway, Norchard Steam Railway and Museum, Gloucester Cathedral and Museums, Chepstow Castle. The village of Blakeney is a ten minute walk and has a Fish and Chip shop as well as a post office and a well stocked general store. The Cock Inn is the local pub - less than a ten minute walk which also serves food. There are many local eateries which can be recommended by your hosts who have taken delight in sampling as many as possible (on your behalf of course!). Your holiday home is situated within the grounds of the host's property (Granny's Apple Lodge). Please keep the gate shut to prevent the larger wildlife from entering the property and our friendly, elderly blind and deaf dog from escaping.
