There is plenty of unrestricted street parking right outside the apartment. There is a regular bus service to Galway and relaxed cycling along the lanes of the Doorus peninsula and flaggy shore and to the beaches. There are walking routes in the Burren including guided walking tours available in this spectacular landscape. Further along the coast and into Clare is the pretty village of Ballyvaughan, which includes the best tea room ever just before Monks Bar, some other great pubs and a Saturday farmers and craft market. Carry on down the Wild Atlantic is Fanore with its beaches and Vasco's an eating experience not to be missed. A trip up the Caher Valley from here leads to the unique garden at Caher Bridge. Beyond Caher is Doolin, famous for its traditional music and from where boats can be taken to the Aran Islands or to the Cliffs of Moher. Eventually Loop Head can be reached where sea birds nesting on cliffs seem like almost touching distance away. Birds such as Choughs are a common site here. Going inland takes you to Lisdonvarna with its matchmaking festival, Kilfenora, with its monastic ruins and Corofin with its famine museum. In the opposite direction from Kinvara and heading south is Coole Park, a key location in the gaelic revival and Thoor Balylee, the former tower home of W B Yeats, where Dippers nest in the stonework by the river. Kinvara is on the Wild Atlantic Way and makes a great base for visiting the west of Ireland, including the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher, Loop head and in land the Slieve Aughty Mountains and Lough Derg. To the north is Galway city with Connemara beyond. The area is ideal for Birdwatching, walking, fishing and exploring the Burren with its unique flora or the coast.
