Cotswold cottage with views in Nailsworth
Please abide by government travel rules when booking/visiting. Apple Tree Cottage is a light, airy, yet cosy 1 bed studio cottage. Great views, private secluded patio & free off street parking. Comfy bed. Living room area with compact TV/DVD player & WiFi. Downstairs spacious and well equipped kitchen-diner & shower room with toilet and sink. Easy walk to Nailsworth centre with its bustling eateries & shops. Well situated for hiking and visiting attractions in the Cotswolds area and beyond. The whole cottage and patio-garden is for your exclusive use. The main part of Apple Tree Cottage dates back to 1792. The bed/sitting room has original beamed ceilings and fantastic views down the Nailsworth valley and over towards Stroud. The kitchen-diner is spacious and well equipped, and the bathroom has a washbasin, toilet and shower. It is a 10-15 minute walk to Nailsworth town centre. There are many beautiful walks from the door, with the Cotswold Way only a short distance away. There is a selection of local maps and walking books for guests to borrow. For non-walkers, there are many great local attractions to visit in the area such as the incomplete gothic mansion at Woodchester, Woodchester Vineyards, Stroud Farmers' market, Tetbury and Highgrove House, Westonbirt Arboretum and the Church and Rococo gardens of Painswick. A folder of local tourist attractions can be found in the cottage. Should you want to stay home, there is a TV and DVD player with a selection of films to watch, and a range of books and games in the cottage. Note that due to steps and stairs within and outside the property, Apple Tree Cottage is unfortunately not suitable for travellers with mobility issues. You have use of free off street parking on the drive, your own front gate and house entrance, and a lovely private self-contained patio area overlooking the Nailsworth Valley. We live next door so are available if you need any help or advice during your stay. We live next door to Apple Tree Cottage. However the parking, entrance and patio of Apple Tree Cottage are at the opposite end of the building to us, so you will only see us if you want to! But should you want any advice or help, guests are welcome to contact us or pop round. The neighbourhood overlooks the Nailsworth valley and has views over to Stroud and Minchinhampton Common. It is quiet and pretty, and made up mainly of detached Cotswold cottages. It is an easy 10-15 minute walk to the centre of Nailsworth (or a 2 minute drive). In Nailsworth there are several supermarkets and grocery stores, as well as a variety of other shops and places to eat. There is a bus stop 5 minutes away if you want to catch buses to Stroud or further afield. There is off street parking at the property. There is a cycle track to Stroud nearby. Early drop-off of baggage is usually (but not always) possible so please get in touch to enquire if this is possible on the dates of your arrival. Due to fairly narrow stairs inside, and shallow steps to the front door outside, the property is unfortunately not suitable for people with mobility issues.
