'Comfortable Sunny Getaway' offers the perfect base for exploring Torbay & South Devon. Situated in a quiet residential area of Preston, it is a modern spacious flat suitable for couples, a family, or small group. With parking outside and a separate entrance, it has all level flooring, a spacious lounge, hall, fully fitted kitchen, dining room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Whether you're a beach lover, walker, sightseer this space is ideal to give you access to the coast or the country. Comfortable Getaway, is a spacious place for you to relax. Bedroom 1 is a double. Bedroom 2 can be configured to accommodate a set-up as: a twin or 3 singles depending on needs. Please note however, the accommodation booking is for a maximum of 5 guests. Infants requiring a cot can be added upon request and this will be placed in Bedroom 2. Both bedrooms are furnished with drawers, chairs and a wardrobe. The bright sunny lounge has armchairs, a sofa and smart tv. A patio door leads out to a small garden area. The sea is visible from the front of the flat. Leading off from the spacious hall area there is a separate dining room, a cupboard with coat rack, iron, ironing board and clothes airer. It can also be used for storing bags or cases, to maximise your space in the bedrooms. The modern bathroom comprises of a shower including rainfall shower, low-level toilet and washbasin. Please note there is no bath. The fully fitted kitchen comes complete with ceramic hob, cookerhood, fridge, freezer, oven, washing machine and dryer, microwave, toaster, kettle, utensils and cooking equipment - all that you need for cooking and eating in. A cot and high chair are also available upon request. Guest Access: You will have your own entrance, there are no shared spaces. Outside the flat has off-road parking for one car. There is one step into the flat, thereafter is all level flooring. There is also free roadside parking at front of property. To the front of the flat is a south facing garden which can be used for relaxing outdoors. There is a table & chairs should you wish to have outdoor dining, or relax and enjoy a quiet drink. More details outlining use of this space can be found in the house rules. Check in is with a lockbox. Strictly no smoking. No pets. Fresh bedding and towels. Tea, coffee & sugar all there ready for you. Additional Rules during your stay: The accommodation is in a quiet residential area and in order to respect neighbours, it is requested that noise levels are to be kept to a minimum, especially outside in the garden and no BBQs are permitted. No parties, or events permitted. No deep fat frying is permitted. It's requested that dirty outdoor shoes are not worn in flat to help keep floors free of scratches and in a condition you would like to find. Free parking is available to rear of property and again must be considerate to neighbours. There is additional free roadside parking to the front of the property. Owners do not live on site, but can be contacted via Airbnb, or by phone. 'Comfortable Getaway' offers the perfect base for exploring South Devon. It is situated in a quiet residential area of Preston, in Torbay lying halfway between Paignton and Torquay. Torbay is made up of the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Preston sands has a reknowned lovely beach area, lined by beach huts and a green which is approximately a 15 minute walk, or a short drive. Preston has local shops, supermarkets, pubs, a variety of restaurants and takeaways. There is also access to the local bus service which runs the distance of Torbay and beyond. Paignton town centre is an easy walk or short driveaway, where there are shops, banks, Post Office, library, cinema, small theatre, cafes and a plethora of bars and restaurants. It has a train station which runs along the coast to Exmouth, and links to the national network routes. The bus and train station operates from the centre of town with regular services to London and other major cities. Paignton beach with it's prominent pier extends towards Preston at one end and the harbour area at the other. It is flanked by a green, complete with Geopark children's play area, crazy golf and donkey rides. Paignton has a fantastic Zoo, an exciting visitor attraction for all ages, which plays a major part in a worldwide programme in caring for and breeding of rare species. The town of Torquay is a few minutes drive away and has shops, galleries, cinema, theatres, a bowling alley, museum, cafes, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. The beautiful harbour and marina area is a lively area both day and night. The historic fishing port of Brixham lies to the south side of Paignton. It's narrow streets with quirky shops, galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants can be accessed by sea from ferries operating from Paignton and Torquay. The fort at Berry Head is a dominating feature of the Bay with it's lighthouse visible at night. The views around Torbay can be enjoyed from clifftop walks which form part of SW Coastpath. None more so than the beautiful beach of Goodrington, a short walk from Paignton and can be accessed via the headland at Roundham. Here you can enjoy water sports, the waterpark, bumper boat rides, velopark, to name a few. Broadsands is another fabulous beach within our Bay. It's a safe sandy beach attractive to families, enjoys views of the viaduct where the Torbay and Dartmouth Steam train travels its scenic way along the coast and down to the River Dart, from Paignton to Kinsgwear and (by a short ferry across) Dartmouth. The Torbay and Dartmouth Steam Railway can be linked up with a beautiful river trip up the River Dart to the quaint town of Totnes. A link up with the bus service provides a round trip back to Paignton. Alternatively a day out to Totnes with it's range of independent shops is also home to the stunning Dartington Estate. This beautiful old house is surrounded by gardens and fabulous walks. It also has an independent cinema and a craft village area. There is a steam train attraction which operates between Totnes and Buckfastleigh. This runs alongside the River Dart and can provide the opportunity to link up with other attractions in the area: The Buckfast Butterflies and Dartmoor Otters. Other fabulous attractions within the Bay include several National Trust properties, including the home of Agatha Christie at Galmpton. If history is your bag then why not visit the beautiful village of Cockington? Situated on the outskirts of Torquay, it's olde worlde chocolate box look of thatched properties and horse drawn carriages, will take you back in time. Set in fabulous gardens it's a real treat to visit any time of year, but especially when spring flowers are out. It's old barns host crafts, bespoke iron works and art galleries. Torre Abbey with historic Spanish Barn, pitch & putt, bowling greens, tennis courts are located just off Torquay seafront. For a prehistoric adventure the caves at Kents Cavern are a great attraction to visit, especially if it's a rainy day. The National Park of Dartmoor, Ocean city of Plymouth with all it's history, plus capital city of Devon, Exeter, with it's stunning cathedral, shopping centre, and quayside are all within easy driving distance. For the golfers there are courses at Dainton Park, Churston, Torquay, and Dartmouth. Visit their websites, or call for further information and booking availability. Local bus stops, just down the road in Preston, run regularly to Brixham, Torquay and Newton Abbot. Main bus routes operate throughout the Bay & beyond from Paignton bus station, opposite Train station. Daytrips to nearby Totnes, Newton Abbot, Plymouth, Exeter are all within easy reach by bus. Local buses also operate with a bus stop at top of road. Train services are located in Paignton, Torquay, linking the Bay to national rail networks. Ferries operate on a seasonal basis from Paignton Harbour to Brixham and Torquay. You can explore Dartmouth, via Kingswear by taking scenic steam train from Paignton.
