Peaceful country home close to skiing &Brattleboro

Our 4BR/2BA home allows you to enjoy the best of Southern VT. Skiing (20 min to Mt. Snow; 35 min to Stratton), river swimming holes, hiking, biking, art galleries and great restaurants nearby. Open concept space, cook's kitchen, jet bathtub, beautiful gardens, winter hot tub off deck, and large patio and fireplace give a homey feel. Secluded from neighbors but close to amenities, this home is a comfortable and peaceful retreat after a day exploring the best of Southern Vermont! Our 4 bedroom home was lovingly built with our own hands. Solar panels provide grid-tied electricity, hot water and radiant floor heat. Knotty pine sheathing gives a cozy-cabin-like feel with open concept kitchen/living room space downstairs and airy ceilings upstairs. Relax by our woodstove in cool months, or enjoy our large deck surrounded by gardens in the summer. The house is conveniently located off a paved road just 10 minutes to Brattleboro, but provides complete privacy and a forest feel. We are close to great hiking, swimming holes, berry picking, scenic drives, and excellent restaurants. Enjoy Southern VT Skiing: we're just 20 minutes to Mt. Snow and 35 minutes to Stratton. With the gardens, outdoor fire pit, large patio and cozy living area, however, you may not want to leave! The upstairs bedrooms have a tree-house feel, with views of the forest and our beautiful perennial gardens and fruit trees. The downstairs den bedroom has a Queen futon with thick, memory foam mattress, and master downstairs boasts lots of light and a king bed. Lots of kids games, books and toys to keep your little ones entertained. After a day hiking or skiing, soak in our deep jet tub upstairs or enjoy the custom tile shower downstairs. You can shower under the stars in our outdoor shower on the patio, season permitting. Our kitchen has all you need to prepare great meals: stainless steel appliances, gas range, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, custom concrete counters with embedded rocks and crystals found from the nearby Rock River. Table seats 6 + bar seating for 2. Weber gas grill outside. Additional dining space on outdoor patio. Also washer and drier upstairs, and large mudroom for storing gear. FYI Vermont Rooms & Meals taxes are collected automatically through the Airbnb platform under tax ID number MRT (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Our home is your home while you're here, and we're away. Please treat the space and our belongings with love and respect. Several parking spaces up our longish (and somewhat steep) driveway. We have a great plow person who maintains the drive and a pull out spot at the bottom flat part, in case you don't feel like dealing with the driveway hill in winter. We are generally nearby to help, and also have a local neighbor/friend on hand to deal with any house issues or questions that may come up if we are out of town. We live in a very private, country setting that's a short drive to town, restaurants, and great outdoor opportunities. Though we live off a paved road, you don't see traffic and feel you're in a sweet treehouse oasis, surrounded by beautiful pines, gorgeous perennial gardens and fruit trees. You'll need your car. Country living up here! We are 10 miles from Brattleboro, 2 miles from Newfane, and just 20 minutes drive to Mt. Snow and 35 minutes to Stratton. Please note that our driveway is steep at the top. It is maintained at the conclusion of weather events in the winter (not during). If guests question the driveway at all, or if they do not have snow tires (ideally with studs), we recommend folks park at the bottom, flat part of the driveway and walk up. Guests are responisble for any towing fees they may incur if the driveway is inappropriately attempted. We have fast wireless internet access (for Vermont - 300 mbps) which allows you to stream movies on your device or the 43" TV in the living room.
