Set in the heart of the historic village of Wookey Hole, a stones throw from the renowned Wookey Hole caves is "The Flour Barn", a charming apartment located within Homestead Cottage, a Grade 2 listed period property built in 1680. "The Flour Barn" has recently been refurbished by it's current owners to a high standard, to create a spacious, light & airy but also warm & cosy self catering retreat for you to enjoy. Park your car in the garden, head up the stairs & through the door and the apartment opens up in front of you. The spacious living room has a comfy sofa (which converts to a double bed ) and an armchair, a smart TV & a nest of coffee tables. In the corner is a dining area, open plan to the well-fitted and fully equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and electric oven. There is also a utility room with washing machine & tumble dryer. Off the hallway is the warm and cosy bedroom with a king size bed, wardrobe, dressing table & bed side tables & lamps. Off the other side of the hall is the spotlessly clean & well-lit bathroom with a walk in shower, wash basin & WC. Just outside the front door is an outdoor seating area, great for a glass of wine in the evening or your morning coffee. Down the stairs is a small enclosed courtyard area with bistro set and barbecue. We will be here to welcome you when you arrive & show you around. We are happy to answer any questions and offer information about local facilities, attractions, shops etc. For a small village Wookey Hole has a lot to offer. The fabulous Wookey Hole Caves, Ebbor Gorge, a great village pub with a spacious beer garden & miles of footpaths from our doorstep which stretch across the Mendip Hills (a certified Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Wells, with its historical and eye-catching Cathedral, Bishops Palace, Moat & twice weekly market is a 5 minute drive away or 30 minute walk. Glastonbury with its fabulous quirky shops, spiritual vibe and the famous Glastonbury Tor is a 20minute drive away. Cheddar is 15 minutes away with its famous and captivating gorges, caves and of course the cheese! If you fancy some retail therapy you have Clarks Village, a factory outlet store with loads of bargains to be found. Bristol airport is 30 mins drive & the cities of Bath & Bristol are 45 minutes away.
