Situated in the Surrey Hills village of Shalford, the Barn is located off the A248 and is a stones throw from the Wey & Arun Canal. The Barn has recently been converted and provides comfortable living space and a upstairs bedroom. The Barn has all the modern amenties. Shalford Village includes two pubs, a village shop, Snooty's Cafe, Barbers, Boots, Post Office, Wine shop and a beauty parlous. Shalford is well connected with buses and trains to Guidford and other destinations. The lounge/diner has a corner sofa bed. Dining table for four people, 43 inch Smart UHD TV with Netflix, BritBox and catchup players, (Hidden by Airbnb) nest mini and high speed broadband. The kitchen is fully stocked including kettle, toaster, microwave, oven, hob, Nespresso machine, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, iron and ironing board. Upstairs the bedroom has a kingsize bed, storage for clothes, seating area and bedside clock and charging plate. Outside there is an allocated parking space and and a charging point for electric cars. Guest can access the full space The host lives locally and will normally be available during your stay. Shalford has two working pubs, The Seahorse and Queen Victoria. The Queen Victoria is a locals pub whilst the Seahorse does very good food. Within the Village Snooty'sCafe does great breakfasts and lunches seven days a week. Also within the village is a Thai Restaurant, small Boots, barbers, beauty parlour, Village Shop and a Post Office. The Guildford Wine Company has a lovely wine shop as well. There are many green spaces and ponds within the village and the Wey/Arun canal is a great spot for walks, boating and cycling. Shalford has great transport links including buses to Cranleigh, Horsham and Guildford and the train station, which is a 7 minute walk from the barn has trains to Guildford, Reading, Reigate/Redhill, Dorking and Gatwick Airport. Guildford is 5 minutes by train. Nearby villages and towns include Bramley, Wonersh, Shamley Green, Shere, Cranleigh, Godalming. Denbies wineyard is 30 minutes drive and Albury nestled in the beautiful Surrey Hills is the home of Albury wines and also up and coming gin distillery, Silent Pool. Guildford is a great place for shopping, drinking and eating. It also has a leisure amenities including swimming pools and an ice rink. The Yvonne Arnauld and GLive has some of the biggest names on the stage and in the music world. Recommend Pubs for eating: Seahorse - Shalford, Percy Arms - Chilworth and Grantley Arms - Wonersh, Red Lion - Shamley Green Recommended pub for drinking: Seahorse, Shalford and Grantley Arms, Wonersh Breakfast/Lunch: Snooties, Guildford Dining in Guildford: Thai Terrace, The Ivy, Giggling Squid, Olivio and many other restaurants Guildford is 5 minutes by train and 7 minutes by bus.You can walk into Guildford along the canal within 30 minutes. Godalming is a 30 minutes walk. The parking space is the space next to the electric charging socket (space to the right). All rubbish including recycling must go in the Black bin marked the Barn.
