This detached Breton house built around 1900, is set in a wonderful location in central Brittany, Locarn near Carhaix Plouguer. Set above a wooded valley, it attracts the full sun from sunrise to sunset. Original features include exposed beams /wood-burner fire with an open plan living area. The large mature garden offers a large decking area ideal for 'al fresco' dining or sitting in the shade under the apple and oak trees. Rural area soTransport is essential . Kitchen and dining Kitchen: There is a well equipped, corner kitchen area, supplied with all utensils and crockery adequate for 6 people. Equipment includes a gas hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer, kettle , microwave and toaster. A coffee-maker and plenty of storage space. Living room The lounge area has a wood burning stove, logs supplied, for cooler evenings and a comfortable sofa and armchairs. The dining area has a large table and 6 chairs. A dresser with a good selection of table ware. Satellite TV English channels only, dvd Player for films or games please bring your own dvd,s or games plus controllers. Radio /cd player Bedroom 1 Bedroom 2 Bedroom 1 with king size bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and chest of drawers, large mirror. Bedroom 2 with 2 single beds, bedside tables, wardrobe and chest of drawers. On the landing area there are 2 comfortable easy chairs ideal for sitting and reading a good book or just looking at the wild life (birds) over the valley or star gazing on clear nights. Bathrooms On the ground floor there is a fully tiled shower room with wc and washbasin, heated towel rail and shaver point. Heating Main heating by Modern wood burning stove plus two, 2 kw portable oil filled radiators and 1 portable gas fire. Entertainment Satellite tv most English channels, dvd player for films or games . Radio /cd Player Board games compendium, scrabble, draughts, chess, dominoes Also a small electronic keyboard. Garden and outside The large rear garden has apple, oak and bay trees giving dappled shade in the summer. It is fully enclosed with hedging and boundary wall, the decking measures approx 7 ft x 30 ft, patio chairs/ loungers and tables supplied. There is a bbq area on the decking. With a portable bbq suppied. Parking and garages Parking for 2 vehicles off-road on hard standing. Visitor suitability Must be able to climb steps and stairs. Transport required. Information about additional facilities Attached to the cottage is a laundry room with double drainer sink, washing machine and tumbledryer. Bikes could be stored in this lockable area or any other equipment. Bed linen and tea towels are provided, you will need to bring towels. The property is cleaned on changeover. A short 10 minute walk from the cottage is a slate mine, a bit over grown a the moment, head for the Pont du Glase bridge a little ways up the road is the plaque for the mine, follow the instructions, worth the ramble.
