You will love our 2 bedroom, 2nd floor, flat located in a traditional red sandstone building. In a lovely seafront location, it is a 5 minute walk to the town centre and has great views of the Isle of Arran, Ailsa Craig and the Ayrshire coast. The flat has been refurbished and has a modern, equipped kitchen and bathroom. You will self-checkin with keys to the flat via a lockbox. We will communicate through your reservation itinerary, contact numbers and email address will be found in the flat. Access to the flat is gained via the ground floor entrance and two low steps. There are then two sets of stairs to access the 2nd floor flat. Linen and towels are provided as well as tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, some spices, washing up liquid and washing powder, and little touches to make life simpler. Rubber gloves, sanitising wipes, hand gel, and cleaning disinfectants are also provided. Outside The front areas of the building are privately owned. To the rear thare is a grassed garden area with a laundry line. You will the bins here, Please note that ALL food containers ( take away and microwave etc ) should go into refuse sacks and be placed in GREEN bin, NOT BLUE, as the local authority will refuse to take it due to contamination. Please take care to quietly close the doors when you enter or leave the building. The waterfront is literally across the street. We hope you enjoy your stay in the Troon area and that you enjoy staying at our flat. Please make your self at home while you are here. We ask that you kindly treat the flat as if it were your own and that you leave it as you found it. Please respect our neighbours and avoid excess noise, slamming doors etc. - No Smoking - No Parties - No excessive noise Please note that the 2nd bedroom has 2 small beds. These can be stacked, for one person, to be higher off the floor if you prefer. PLEASE read the RECYCLE BINS INFO that is located on the inside of the washing machine cupboard door. This is very important or the bins will not get emptied! Please only use the bins near the back gate. You will have the entire flat to yourself. You will also have access to the back garden and laundry line, this area is shared with other flat owners and their guests. You will self-checkin with keys to the flat via a lockbox. We will communicate through your reservation itinerary. My contact details and WIFI password will be found in the flat. Please read the rubbish bin instructions, which are in an envelope behind the washing machine door. If the Council Rules are not followed, the bins will not be emptied. Please be very careful if opening the living room window! Winds can catch it and forcefully push it open. We always close the two doors when opening it to clean, this helps reduce wind risk. Thank You! Troon is a very nice town and has everything that you will need to make your visit enjoyable. There is free on-street parking right in front of the building and on the well lit and safe side streets. In the town centre there are nice restaurants, pubs and cafes. Nearby are several golf courses, places of interest, and lovely walks. There are lovely rock pools to explore across the road from the flat. The beach is a fantastic place to enjoy a long walk, in either direction, or to just sit and relax while listening to the waves. Or you can simply watch the birds and ever-changing scenery from the living room window. Parking is free on the streets around the area. There is a bus stop just outside the flat. The train station is in the town, approximately a 20 minute walk away. There are easy and frequent connections to places up and down the coast, including Ayr (Robbie Burns museum in Alloway) and Ardrossan (ferry to the Isle of Arran). Glasgow is a short 35 train minute ride (every 20 min. approx) with the last train leaving Glasgow at 23:00 back to Troon. There is also a direct train from Troon to Edinburgh. There is an easy transfer from Glasgow Airport, by airport shuttle bus to Glasgow, and then train to Troon. The weather in Troon can be exciting! Strong winds and horizontal rain occur often. PLEASE be carefull if opening the windows, due to the wind, and please ensure that they are closed securely. Isle of Arran, if you are planning to visit Arran in summer you should book your ferry tickets ASAP as they fill up quickly. Tickets can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours before departure. I suggest you give CalMac a call, (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , to get some info, they are very helpful. There is public transport, buses, on Arran. These will be busy in the summer but they do go around the Island, just be sure not to miss your ferry.
