Spacious modern apartment in an historic building

This tasteful apartment's commanding fifth floor position offers tranquillity and excellent security, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing out towards the surrounding countryside, giving views of the summit of St Genis and paragliders gently circling in the sky. As well as enjoying all the benefits of your own private apartment, you will have access to public rooms within a beautiful building in a peaceful park, close to the centre of this delightful historic alpine spa town. The apartment is pleasantly cool in summer and warm and in winter; a cosy attic-style bedroom with a velux window and a wood burner-style electric heater adding atmosphere, making it perfect for a romantic break, family holiday or curiste’s stay at the next-door spa. The apartment’s high location within the building gives you privacy, but does allows you to watch comings and goings from both Le Splendid and the surrounding parkland. Two lifts allow easy access to the apartment at all times. The apartment has a small kitchen area complete with a fridge, microwave, table top oven and two- ring induction hob. We have enjoyed wonderful holidays in the apartment ourselves over the years. Do let us know if there is something we can add which would enhance your stay on a return visit. You will have the entire apartment to yourself, with its own spacious living area, bedroom, bathroom (with full-sized bath/shower), toilet and large built-in wardrobe. You will be welcomed by our local key holder who speaks both English and fluent French and she will be on hand should you require any local assistance or advise during your stay. You can hire sheets and towels at additional charge (10 euros per person) from our local host or you can bring your own. Guests are expected to leave the apartment clean and tidy on departure, including emptying the dishwasher before departure and returning all furniture to its rightful place. Otherwise there is an additional charge of up to 50 euros for cleaning. There is also a 100 euro charge for lost keys, which are very difficult to replace. Thank you for your kind understanding. During the winter the apartment makes an ideal location for winter ski activities, and the apartment is located within easy reach by car or local ski bus to Le Collet d'Allevard (10km) or Les Sept Laux Pleynet (25km). Further afield to explore venture to Les 3 Vallées (60km) or Saint-François-Longchamp Saint-François-Longchamp (70km). Allevard makes an ideal location to explore the surrounding area. During the summer, breath the fresh mountain air, relax, enjoy easy access to the spa's, sit in the parks, eat out at the fine restaurants. For those more energetic, take a hike up to the mountain of area where there are some wonderful mountain walks and trails on the doorstep, swim in the town's lake or excellent outdoor public swimming pool well as enoying a wide range of sightseeing and adventure activities. There is excellent parking right next to the appartment. Allevard is a beautiful, characterful small French town with all the amenities you need, and stands at 500m elevation. Grenoble and Chambery are approximately 30 minutes by car (and local transport), and Lyon and Lake Annecy are just over an hour away. Late arrivals after 9.00pm will be subject to an additional charge of 10 euros per hour at the discretion of the owners. Bed linen and towels can be requested at an additional cost of 10 euros per person.
