Gorgeous Room on a Boutique Vineyard

Welcome to Harris Estate! We are a predominantly sheep farming family with a boutique vineyard growing Pinot Noir. Our home is a rustic, country home with a Mediterranean style feel. Daryl is happy to show you around our property if time allows. Here, you'll have your own bedroom, bathroom, seperate toilet and access to our expansive commercial kitchen - for those with a culinary inclination. I'm happy to show you around the farm when possible. I can also give recommendations on all the best local spots. I'm excited to meet you and share my unique slice of paradise! Nestled in the Waipara Valley, just 45 minutes North of Christchurch, you can explore the rich local wine scene, olive groves and Weka Pass railway or, for music lovers, Canterbury House - home of the jazz circuit over summer. Harris Estate is the perfect stop on the way north to Kaikoura (1.5 hours north) or en route through to Hanmer Springs (45 minutes inland). We're based 45 minutes north of Christchurch in the Waipara Valley, so I recommend you bring a vehicle to ensure you have the freedom to explore local vineyards, farms and coastline.
