Papillon, Nr Loches, Loire Valley

An Airbnb with a difference. It’s a comfortable independent home suitable for all the family where you can enjoy the serenity and calm of the countryside. Papillon is close to the historic ‘cité médiéval’ of Loches. The features of this lovely area are the wonderful Loire valley chateaux and vineyards. Our space is unique because it's in a small French hamlet surrounded by open fields which change by the seasons. Wild boar and deer can often be seen across the fields. It's cosy, well equipped and private. Guests have access to the parking area by the house. Papillon has an open plan dining-kitchen-lounge area with its own access to the rear terrace in the garden where you can dine ‘al fresco’ . It has its own front door so guests are free to come and go at leisure. There is a ground floor shower room as well as a first floor bathroom adjacent to the first floor bedrooms. It's entirely private so you can relax and be comfortable. We are happy to greet people on arrival. If anyone needs help or advice on local tourist attractions etc, well, we've been here 15 years!! There are local boulangeries so daily croissants are a must. We have lots of local literature and we are available if you need us. Our neighborhood is wonderful for cycling, walking, bird spotting, golf. The 9 hole golf course is 10 Kms away with a driving range and practice putting area. There is a leisure lake close by for swimming and boat hire. We have several local restaurants for reasonably priced meals. It's rural France with cute villages and rolling countryside, no traffic jams and precious few traffic lights!! A pleasure to drive around. If you wish to have an overview, there is a microlite flight centre in Loches. The guy there is happy to oblige. Because Loches is built of the local warm tuffeau stone there is a well presented quarry under the town itself which is open to visitors and is well worth a visit. The intrepid traveler has to be mobile. There is a bus service from Loches to Tours. At Tours there is the Val de Loire airport and a train station. From Tours there are direct trains to Paris and also to Charles De Gaulle airport.
