Only 15 minutes drive from the airport, Kouvaras is close to the southern beaches around Athens and a great alternative to staying in the city. This luxury countryhouse/villa is situated on picturesque land. We have a private in-ground pool, vineyard, horse riding (close-by), free range chickens and homemade wine. The property is in a beautiful land in the ancient attica area of Kouvaras surrounded by olive groves, vineyards & coastal villages. There is a restaurant 15 minutes walk down the road (at the horse riding club) and there is a coastal village close by which serves traditional food with great views of the sleepy beach of Daskaleio. The pool is extremely large(16 m long,6 m wide)allowing even a water polo game. This is a wonderful place to bring the family or a quiet and romantic get-away. You have exclusive access to the main house, the gardens and the pool. There is another little house on the plot where the farm keeper and his wife stay. They do not speak English but they are very kind, welcoming and helpful people that will care for you and your stay. You might like to join us for the grape harvest in September. This is a great experience for international guests to take part in wine collection and pressing in the traditional way. In November you can experience olive collection and the making of olive oil! You may enjoy a complementary bottle of homemade wine very close to the villa,there is a horse riding club where lessons can be arranged with the club instructors. Depending on the length of your stay we endeavour to give you a real sense of luxurious rural living in Greece that you will never forget. The experience of the land around Athens is unique. There are ancient sites, beaches, and vineyards accessible by car. At a 15 minutes' walk from the house there is a horse riding school, with a fabulous restaurant in the club house.Lessons can be arranged there. At about 10 minutes by car you can get to Daskaleio where there is a beach and restaurants. A bit further away there is Lavrio (an ancient port) with tavernas and night life. Same goes for nearby Anavissos ,Saronis and Porto Rafti. Most popular places of the Athenian Riviera,like Vouliagmeni ,are within 30 min drive A trip to Cape Sounion at sunset is a must ! There are numerous villages and beautiful olive groves to walk around. in nearby Spata, there is a well known discount village 'Mc Arthur Glenn ',with more than 100 shops. in the same area,there is the Athens zoo,Attica Zoological park, an ideal place for children. Next to the airport,in Spata,there is the largest exhibition center of Athens, Metropolitan Expo where exhibitions of all kinds are held throughout the year. There is a metro station (Koropi) about 10 minutes by car from the house. From the metro you can get to central Athens in about 40 minutes. The property is accessible by car only, you can use a taxi or rent a car (best from the airport when you arrive). The closer taxi station (URL HIDDEN) or (mob.)(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) The village of Keratea has local shops, supermarkets, bakeries, coffee shops and tavernas. Touring possibilities include a day trip to Tzia (Kea) island in the Cyclades which is about an hour by ferryboat from nearby Lavrion port (15-20 min drive). It is also possible to take a day trip to the Saronic islands (Poros /Hydra/Spetses) the boat leaves from Trokadero/Piraeus. We strongly recommend a day trip to Delphi (and return via picturesque Galaxidi). Also, daily off-road (4wheel) excursions can be arranged in nearby mountains on demand, with prior notice if you need a guide. Security includes alarm system and watch dogs (unless guests prefer to restrict them) and surveillance cameras which can be switched off if requested. Since the pool is very large (16 metres long and 2.5 m deep at one end) all users must know how to swim. Children are to be supervised by parents at all times and the hosts and owners have no liability for accidents. The farm is licensed for parties and events of up to 150 people, catering can be arranged including DJ’s or live music. In the future, we will be converting the attached building into a workshop and conference space so you can have the option of hosting unique workshops and retreats. In the case of events,an increased deposit as guarantee will be discussed and special conditions ,such as cleaning and preparation costs as well as liability insurance(for the event).Catering services have to be outsourced. The house is delivered clean and we provide cleaning every 7th day. If you wish additional cleaning services during your stay we may provide it with extra charges. Minimum stay is 5 nights.
