Gîte du Four à Pain Cottage

Located in the village of Vallans, in the Marais Poitevin area (14km from Niort), the gîte is an ideal base to explore this unique region and relax in green surroundings. Renovated around a former bread oven, this accommodation has kept all its character. You will enjoy a spacious living room (30m²) with open kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 WC, 1 terrace. You will also enjoy the spacious yard and the swimming pool shared with the guests of our B&B. Free bicycles loan. Non-smoking accommodation. Perfect for a family of 4 or two couples. Each bedroom has its own bathroom (shower & bathroom sink) and WC. Bedroom 1: 1 double bed (width 140cm). Bedroom 2: 2 single beds or 1 large double bed (width 180cm). In the kitchen: gas stove x4, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator+freezer, microwave oven, laundry washmachine... Linen and towels: you can bring your own or rent them. Linen+beds made: 10€/bed. Bathroom towels kit: 6€/person (bath towel+towel+shower mat+ hand towel and dish towel for the kitchen). Independant house located at the same address as our own house (we share the driveway!) where we also welcome "Bed and Breakfast" visitors. The premices are on a 7000 m2 garden. Your accommodation benefits from a private outdoor terrace surrounded by a part of the garden without vis-à-vis. A parking space is available next to your cottage. We are discreet, but we will be happy to share information about our region and recommend nice visits and experiences if you wish! Walks, hikes and bicycle rides are possible departing from the gîte, lots of interesting sites and villages to visit in the Marais Poitevin/Green Venice and in the Niort area. The coast, and beaches are also close by ( La Rochelle 40 min, Rochefort 40 min), isles (Ré, Aix,...), forets like Chizé (Zoodyssée 20min). Futuroscope is at less than 1h, Puy du Fou 1h30mn. Niort train station is located 16km away, Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon train station is 12km away. Except maybe for bicycle enthusiasts, it is recommended in the countryside to have a vehicle (bakery in the village at walking distance but grocery store and market at 5 km). Note: the swimming pool is seasonal (closed in the winter). Usually open from may to september included, weather permitting.
