Located at the foot of the Brecon Beacons, this well positioned property offers a large, spacious, modern kitchen and breakfast bar with original wooden beams and high ceilings. The kitchen carries through to an open planned dining/living room area equipped with a large flat screen TV and cosy log burner perfect for socialising and chilling out with loved ones. This two bedroom, two bathroom property is beautifully refurbished, and caters perfectly for small families or a couples getaway. This idyllic barn conversion was previously used to house and milk cows on a multiple property farm dwelling. Having sat derelict for many years the property was converted in 2017. The grounds and building have great personal sentiment and any prospective guests are asked to respect the property’s fixtures, fittings, wonderful neighbours and to treat the property as if it was their home. The Cowshed is located in the heart of Llandybie, the property is visible and located on the main road, however, once inside it feels very secluded and private with minimal noise from outside. The front door enters into a large, spacious, sunny room with high ceilings. This open planned communal area consists of the kitchen, dining room and lounge. This is usually where guests frequent the most. It is a great space for socialising, interacting with other members of your party whilst cooking, drinking, watching TV or just relaxing in front of the log burner. Wood is provided for one sitting, additional wood can be purchased at an additional cost. The kitchen is well equipped for most of your cooking needs, there is a gas stove, microwave, toaster, kettle etc. There's also plenty of utensils and serve ware for your catering needs. Original features were kept and restored including the wooden beams and internal brick work. The outside area is still a work in progress, however there's a private patio area accessible through the kitchen french doors that can be used for eating outside in the sunshine. There's also a charcoal BBQ. Please take care if you decide to use the BBQ. The BBQ should not be left unattended at any time whilst lit. There are two bedrooms. The main bedroom consists of a walk-in wardrobe, ensuite with both shower and bath facilities and a spacious super king bed. Please ensure only one person at a time occupies the bath. There's also a smart TV attached to the wall for those lazy mornings or late-night Netflix marathons. The second bedroom has a built-in wardrobe, king size bed, Jack & Jill ensuite which means that it's accessible from both the bedroom and the lounge. The ensuite also has shower facilities. All bedding, hand towels and bath towels are provided, we ask that you place all used towels and bedding in the laundry bins provided as a safety measure to protect our housekeepers. The utility room is equipped with a washing machine and dryer if you wish to do any laundry during your stay. Please ensure you bring detergent if you wish to use the facilities. With regards to recycling, there are dedicated bins in the utility room for paper, tins/cans, plastic and glass bottles. The black bin liners are for general waste. The bin under the sink is for food waste. Sole access. Guests are able to access the entire house except loft spaces. Self check-in however if there are any problems someone will be available in person. The property is located in the quaint village of Llandybie in Carmarthenshire ideal for exploring surrounding areas. By Foot The village is accessible by foot, a short 5-8-minute journey. Here you will find a variety of different vendors such as a bakery, butcher, café, pubs, restaurant, take away food establishments, chemist, a small supermarket etc. By Bus If you wish to venture further, the bus stop is a 2-minute walk from the barn. As you leave the drive, take a left. If you remain on the same side of the road you can head in to Ammanford, an old mining town. Ammanford is home to Coaltown Coffee which is highly recommended. The Roastery is located on Foundry Road opposite Lidl. Here you’ll be immersed in all that specialty coffee has to offer. Any coffee lover’s dream. Ammanford is also home to 925 Treats, a lovely shop full of gifts ideas if you wish to treat yourself or a loved one. If you take a bus in the opposite direction you can head into Llandeilo. Llandeilo is an old market town full of wonderful shops and places to eat and drink. If you want to explore whilst you’re there, Dinefwr Park National Nature Reserve is highly recommended where you can visit Newton House and climb up Dinefwr Castle and experience beautiful views of the Towy Valley. By Train The village is served by Llandybie railway station on the Heart of Wales Line. The train station is a 5-minute walk from the barn. There is also a free car park if you wish to drive. The Heart of Wales line runs from Craven Arms in Shropshire to Swansea. It runs, as the name suggests, through some of the heartlands of Wales. It serves a number of rural towns en-route including Llandrindod Wells. If you change train in Swansea you can continue your journey to Cardiff. By Car There’s an abundance of activities available nearby and usually no further than an hour’s drive to most of the attractions. Located at the foot of the Brecon Beacons, the National Park is a 50-minute drive and home to some of the finest walking country in Europe. Closer to home, Carreg Cennen Castle is a 13 minute drive. The grounds are open 364 days of the year where you can explore the castle and surrounding area by following the circular walks and finishing off with some light refreshments in the tea rooms on site. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches most of which are within an hour’s drive. Between Pembrokeshire and the Gower coastline, Wales has some of the most beautiful beaches on offer and lovely seaside towns to explore. Please ensure only one person at a time occupies the bath. Please ensure children are not left unattended near the blinds and cords are kept out of reach of children.
