This lovely rural Cornish village was an inspiration to Daphne Du Maurier who was moved to feature the village in her classic novel ‘The House on the Strand’. The sweeping valley landscape offers beautiful countryside views, whilst the village is well served by a selection of shops and local pubs.The village pub, The New Inn, serves excellent meals and nearby Fowey is a picturesque harbour town with quality shops, galleries, and for dining a wide choice of cafes, pubs, and restaurants. Eden Project, Heligan Gardens, beaches and coastal path all nearby. Elmswood House is centrally located on the Cornish Riviera, just 4 miles from Fowey, St. Austell and the Eden Project and is well served by train, bus and taxi. It’s the perfect place from which to explore all that Cornwall offers. Par mainline railway station is on the London/Penzance and Aberdeen/Penzance routes with a branch connection to Newquay, and is only a short walk from our house. Newquay airport is within 20 miles.
