Blue Nest ... there is a saying 'birds build nests because they can't fly (Website hidden by Airbnb) when you need to fly to the Blue Mountains to breathe our beautiful clean air, wander in the wilderness, immerse yourself in this vast ancient land, Blue Nest will be waiting for you. Blue Nest is a private wing a of a larger house. It is attached to the main house but completely private with its own entrance. Blue Nest is perfect adult accomodation and is not suitable for babies and children under 15 Blue Nest is light and airy but warm and cosy guest wing nestled in a Blue Mountains garden The guest area comprises a large bedroom with ensuite, another full bathroom with a freestanding bath, a large living room with very comfy sofabed and a kitchenette. The bedroom has a view of the garden and birdsong lets you know you have left your other life behind for a few days. You'll have everything you need to help you unwind and relax. Wentworth Falls Village is in the upper part of the Blue Mountains and has distinct seasons that you don't find in Sydney or in the lower Mountains. We have the most beautiful seasonal colour as many of the local gardens including the one at Blue Nest, feature deciduous European trees with blossoms, bulbs in spring and coloured leaves in Autumn. You may also be lucky enough to have a dusting of snow in winter as we are above the snow-line. The weather is generally cooler than you expect and changeable so always be advised to have a warm layer with you Blue Nest is an easy walk to the village where you will find most of your basic needs including Newsagent, Chemist, Bakery, small supermarket and some lovely cafes, florist, Second Hand Bookshop, gift and antique shops. Please note Blue Nest is a private wing but it is attached to the main house .The guest wing is all yours and you may use the garden for breakfast , evening wine or just to ponder and read. Blue Nest is a private wing of a larger home. Sometimes the owners, friends or family maybe staying in the main part of the home. We will let you know if we will be there during your stay. When we are staying, there may be a Golden Retriever, Elsie with us and a grey cat, Iris. The animals are not allowed into Blue Nest but if Elsie is in her part of the garden you’re very welcome to give her pats and cuddles . As we are in the middle of a National Park there are many world renowned bush walks of varying degrees within a short distance. Charles Darwin Walk, National Pass, Over and Undercliff walks. The beginning of Water Nymphs Dell walk is very close by. Further afield at Leura, Katoomba and Blackheath there are more amazing walks with lookouts where you can see the majesty of this ancient land. You are advised to check with local tourist groups and National Parks and Wildlife Services as to the availability of these walks at the time of year you are visiting. There is also information and a fantastic cafe at the Conservation Hut in Wentworth Falls which is at the beginning of several bush walks. There will be more information about the walks and local sights provided at Blue Nest when you arrive. Wentworth Falls Lake is also within easy walking distance of Blue Nest where you can picnic, follow the walking track around the Lake, feed the ducks, hire kayaks in summer or bring your own. It is particularly magical at sunset. We often walk there with Elsie who loves to swim and watch the ducks. There is a small kitchenette where you will be able to make breakfast from a selection of locally sourced organic products which may include Muesli, Sourdough loaf, jam, marmalade, butter and milk. Coffee and a variety of teas will also be provided. There is a small fridge, microwave and induction cooktop so you can make simple meal if you wish. Supplies can be purchased in the village or the larger supermarkets in Leura and Katoomba. Wentworth Falls is on the Blue Mountains train line and Blue Nest is a very easy 10 minute walk from the station which is located in the middle of the village. Taxis are also available at the station. Trains and buses will take you to the other villages on the mountains. All villages are within an easy walk of the train stations If you need to use the sofa bed there is an extra $60 charge for your stay for the extra linen, doona blankets and pillows. Please do not ask for this to be waived if you bring your own sheets etc. We need to provide our own high quality linen and to be able wash it etc to ensure everyone’s health and safety especially during Covid-19 pandemic. Sometimes the Wi-Fi is a bit ‘patchy’ so if you’re needing Wi-Fi for work purposes please be aware unfortunately we are unable to guarantee optimum Wi-Fi. Due to the style of accommodation and the attention to detail in the interior and in the garden. Blue Nest is the perfect accommodation for adults and therefore it is not available for families with babies or young children under 12 years. Thanks for understanding
