"Escape to The Country" Spacious, Historical Stay
A beautiful rural property set in a stunning, tranquil location steeped in history in beautiful Meopham Village. With full modern amenities this five bedroomed property; Four in the house and a separate triple cabin amongst the trees, offers the chance to escape from the city. Enjoy the extensive space and gardens, country pubs, walks and the quiet location to relax and unwind. Local transport links offer quick travel to London, Bluewater Shopping Centre and historical cities or the coast. The property is located in a conservation area, on the site where a Saxon King once lived, there are many reminders of the local history in this beautiful and tranquil setting. Located at the end of a private drive, the property boasts beautiful views onto its historical 1.75 acre gardens, whilst having modern amenities including a large kitchen diner, a great place for entertaining, plus two spacious reception rooms and plenty of space within the property. The large dining table offers a great space to gather and enjoy food together, the kitchen is usually stocked with various ingredients and the wine fridge offers an honesty box for use of its contents! Downstairs consists of a hallway into a large family area, that has a large dining room table with plenty of comfy seating, leading into the kitchen area and out to the stunning garden. A large lounge area, with large sofas, a TV and a traditional open fireplace, offers more space to relax and enjoy. Four good sized double bedded rooms and one separate log cabin studio (sleeping three) located in the wooded area of the garden allows for a family or couple of families to gather and enjoy it's tranquil location to unwind, relax and to explore the local area. Some bed configurations may be adapted to offer two singles in bedrooms, if required, please ask for more information. The garden is a beautiful place to sit and read and relax with 200 year old redwoods and stunning rhododendrons a whole host of wildlife rabbits and pheasants strolling by and sometimes sheep and livestock reside in the adjacent field. There are a few outdoor seating options with a large patio outside of the bi folds , the bistro area out the front, two more smaller table and chairs one up the garden and one right up by the cabin plus a swing chair under a shaded tree. Plenty of space to gather together and also to escape to a quiet spot too. The house has Spotify and Netflix although we at all times ask that our neighbours are fully considered with music noise levels, due to the tranquil setting. The property due to its history has some quirky traits.... and it is part of an old court, the property shown and listed is completely separate to the others in the court, you will have full use of the property, there are a couple of locked cupboards and a small locked office/ store room in the house. The owners will check you in for your stay and be on hand to explain and answer any questions, if you stay is longer they will drop by at pre arranged times to water the plants to feed the penned chickens and collect the eggs. (Unless of course you wish to!) Within 5 mins walk from the property are the 'local shops" which include a great independent coffee shop that serves fab lunches, plus an indian restaurant, fish and chip shop and takeaways, a hairdresser, barbers, a local convenience store and express supermarket. An inexpensive but great restaurant is another 5 minute walk past the shops and local pubs serving local fare are also located within 5, 10, 15 mins walk, including a pub that on weekends accessed by a 20 minute walk over a local park serves a great Thai meal. Within walkable distance the village boasts a cricket green, with two great pubs serving good food, three very local large country parks, one with a visitor centre and all with cafes, many beautiful countryside walks including local orchards and vineyards and some great pubs and restaurants add to to the charm of this location. The cyclopark is less than a 10 minute drive and Blue Water shopping centre with its huge array of shops, cinemas and restaurants is just a 20 minute drive. The coast is less than an hours drive or accessible via the local train station and offers a selection of quiet beaches; Minster or Sheerness The more quirky and vibrant seaside town Whitstable is 45 min drive with many art galleries, pubs and restaurants plus a market and fisherman's village with local crafts on sale. Local cities Rochester and Canterbury, both cathedral towns have plenty to explore and see and do, again easily accessible by the road networks or the local direct train links. Central London is just 35 mins by train for its theatres and cultural centre. The garden you see in the images is for sole use of the property. The boundary on one side is just tree lined and not fully fenced so the neighbours dog visits at time to time she's a dalmatian called Millie. If you ignore her she'll do the same!
