Detached Family Home, Steyning close to Brighton
A stylish detached family home with large garden in the beautiful historic Sussex town of Steyning, in the South Downs National Park. We're in a quiet neighbourhood with easy access to the town, river walks, cycle trail, hills and sea. Vibrant, cosmopolitan Brighton is just 30 minutes away. Our family home is a small but stylish detached house with open plan living and fantastic outdoor entertaining space. The neighbourhood is quiet and residential and we have off-street parking for two cars and plenty of free on-street parking on our road. The road is quiet with very few cars passing by. It's a short walk into Steyning village, to the river for walks, and to the medieval ruins of Bramber Castle. Refurbished over the last three years throughout, comfortable lounge and dining areas open out through bi-folds to a large deck area and pergola, lit with festoon lights. Next to the deck we have a fire bowl area with oak bench seating, and lawn and trampoline for the children. Enjoy dinner at the large outdoor table, and stretch the evening out by the fire. Firewood is available, £5 a fire in the jar please. The modern kitchen is well equipped with oven, gas hob, dishwasher and large fridge freezer. The adjoining utility room has a new washing machine and new dryer, with a small sink. The double bedroom downstairs is small but stylishly decorated, with an en-suite shower room and plenty of storage. There is also a downstairs toilet, and spaces for coats and bags in the porch, hall and under stairs. Upstairs, there are three single bedrooms. One has a high level desk bed, and is only suitable for ages 8 and up. The main bathroom upstairs is a good size with bath and powerful over-bath shower. Our new one bedroom annexe at the bottom of the garden will be available in 2022 (as part of the house booking), and comes with its own large deck to enjoy the morning sun, while the house deck gets the sun all through the afternoon and evening. The annexe has an open plan space with lounge, kitchenette and dining / workspace. There is a separate double bedroom and good sized bathroom with shower. Photos to be added soon. We recently landscaped and planted the front garden and it is now a haven for bees enjoying the lavender and other flowers. The bench over-looking the garden is a great place for a morning coffee in the sun. Guests will have exclusive access to the whole house and, when available, annexe. Steyning village is a 15 minute stroll. The nearest train station is in Shoreham, 6 miles away and the number 2 bus leaves from Bramber roundabout regularly (5 mins), bound for Shoreham and then Brighton. Brighton is 30 minutes by car, and the sea is 20 minutes away at Shoreham or Lancing. We will be away when you come to stay. Steyning is a quintessential old Sussex town, with many beautiful Tudor buildings. The town has four pubs, tea rooms and restaurants, and a small supermarket. Our house is 15 minutes walk from the centre of town and 10 minutes from a peaceful river walk leading to the ruins of the 11th Century Bramber Castle. There are great facilities in the town including a swimming pool, gym, squash courts, tennis courts, a large playing field where cricket is played, and two good children's playgrounds. Steyning is well connected by bus to Shoreham-by-Sea, where you can catch trains to Brighton, Lewes, London, Chichester and Portsmouth. Our house is a 1 minute ride from the Downs Link Cycle Trail which runs through Steyning, from Shoreham to St Martha's Hill in Surrey. Steyning has good walking all around it, with a walk up to Chanctonbury Ring from the town centre a must! Our home is not really geared up for infants as we do not have stair gates or safety locks on doors.
