Traditional Scottish Cottage

Terraced 19th century workers cottage with lots of original features, in quiet residential area 10 minutes walk to restaurant=filled town centre, and beautiful, Pittencrief Park with historic buildings, woodland walks, friendly squirrels, play areas. Our stone cottage built in the 1890s retains many original features and much original joinery creating a cosy old world atmosphere - marred only by the free unlimited high speed WiFI! It has a good sized living room with TV, DVD, sofas, dining table, bookcase etc, a large bedroom with a double bed, and a smaller bedroom with two bunk beds. Both have the usual wardrobes and cupboards. The free-standing kitchen has an electric cooker, hobs, microwave, coffee machine, kettle fridge/freezer, and very useful for those traveling light, a washer/dryer. There is a toilet room with toilet and washbasin and an adjacent shower room. All rooms have central heating radiators controlled by the guest, included in the price. The whole cottage with its separate entrance is available to guests. We live in St Andrews, Fife, and are always available to answer queries by telephone or to come to the cottage if necessary. Dunfermline is a typical old Scottish town, once the capital of Scotland, Several Kings of Scotland were born here in the Palace, the remains of which can still be seen in Pittencrief Park. The thriving town centre has all of the usual shops, and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. It has two theatres, a Cinema, a large indoor swimming pool and sports centre. There is a corner shop two minutes walk from the cottage and a large Tesco store open till 11.00 pm ten minutes walk away. Bus/coach station in town centre just ten minutes walk from the cottage with regular services to Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews, and the coastal villages, and lots of other places. The train station is 20 minutes walk away or a short taxi ride, with a regular service to Edinburgh. We welcome holiday makers, people visiting friends and relatives, or those on short term work contracts like theatre performers and engineers, but the cottage cannot be used by guests for business purposes which involve customers or clients visiting the property.
