Country house with olive groves

This pretty country house is situated in its own olive groves, on the edge of the Maiella mountain range in the Maiella National Park of Abruzzo. It has two bedrooms, one with its own balcony, all with gorgeous views. A peaceful, beautiful setting. You can enjoy complete peace and quiet at Casa Duchi, as this little part of the world has remained unchanged for generations. Take a stroll in the surrounding olive groves or enjoy the amazing views of the mountains and the valley. Casa Duchi is the perfect location for families or for couples. It is situated in a small hamlet called Gallo, but stands completely on its own in one hectare of its own olive groves, so feels very private. You will have the whole house and surrounding land to yourself, so feel free to take a stroll in the olive grove, or string up the hammock in an olive tree and enjoy the view! You will have Casa Duchi to yourself, but should you require any assistance with maintenance issues, please let us know. We live in England but have two caretakers who look after the house for us. The nearby beaches on the beautiful Costa Dei Trabocchi are just 30 minutes away and are very quiet, even in the peak summer months. If you need somewhere to cool down nearer to home, there is a wonderful open air pool at Lama Dei Peligni which is open all through the summer. Just follow the signs for 'Piscina'. There are also lots of mountain walks to explore as well as gorgeous medieval villages and towns. If skiing is your thing, in the winter there are 2 small ski resorts within 30-45 minutes drive, so if you have been out on the piste all day, you can come back and get toasty by the wood burning stove. It is also a great location for hiking, cycling and rafting. For all you foodies, Abruzzo is no exception to the great cuisine on offer throughout Italy. There are many great restaurants nearby, as well as a great food market in Casoli (20 minutes drive) every Friday. There is no public transport available so a car is essential. Some pets are allowed but please check with the host first. It gets very hot in the summer months at Casa Duchi. The best way to stay cool is to keep the doors and windows closed in the heat of the day.
