Arngomery Cottage - rural escape with log stove

Arngomery Cottage is a charming self catering property which sleeps 4/5 people. The cottage, a ten minute walk from the village of Kippen, is in a picturesque and tranquil setting and is a self contained wing of a former coach house and stables. It is surrounded by countryside and is set in over 2 acres of lawn and woodland. Larger groups of family or friends can also book the neighboring, 2 bedroom cottage of the Stables. Well behaved dogs are welcome. The cottage is very spacious and comfortable. It provides self catering accommodation for up to 5 people and is ideal for families and dog-owners. New for 2022 - the bathroom has been fully refurbished and the kitchen living room area are being opened up to create a large kitchen/living/dining area with a log-burning stove. A brand new kitchen is being installed. The double bedroom has a king-size bed and there is a twin room (small fold down bed can be added). The kitchen is small but is well equiped. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower. A clothes dryer is not provided but there is a clothes line in the garden area and a fold away airer in the cottage. Guests share the main long drive with Arngomery Court but have private access to the cottage which is situated to the rear of the property. There is parking for up to 2 cars and a private terrace with table and chairs. Shared with the Stables, an additional self-catering property to the front and side of Arngomery Court, guests also have access to the remaining garden which includes the children’s play area of trampoline and swing. We live adjacent to the cottage in the main house of Arngomery Court. Guests are able to self-check-in with the key box but we are usually around to say hello and help out if required. The cottage is in a peaceful rural location just a ten minute walk from the village of Kippen. Kippen is a pretty village in a conservation area with two good pub/restaurants. There is also a local shop for basic provisions and a nice wee coffee shop. In addition there are several good farm shops in the area while Stirling a fifteen minute drive away has a plentiful supply of shops and supermarkets. For days out the central location just outside Stirling is perfect for visiting much of Scotland. Historic Stirling with its majestic castle is only a fifteen minute drive away and well worth a visit. Nearby there is also Doune Castle famous for being filmed in Monty Python’s Holy Grail and more recently the Outlander tv series. Nature lovers will enjoy visiting the beautiful lochs and mountains of the Trossachs which is practically on the doorstep. Edinburgh and Glasgow are just over an hour way by car and further afield the Highlands and east and west coasts are easily reached in less than 2 hours. Linen, towels, cleaning and 2 baskets of logs are included in the price.
