Enjoy a relaxing and refreshing escape in this compact, stunning log cabin surrounded by nature at the scenic Trawsfynydd Holiday Park in the heart of Wales. A perfect location with hill walking, cycling, bird watching on your doorstep, beautiful mountains, beaches and other Snowdonia National Park attractions within easy reach. Superb views, dark night skies, a comfortable stay and happy memories await you. This lovely, stylish cabin sleeps up to 4 but equally is perfect for a couple or solo trip. All rooms are beautifully finished and furnished to a high spec. The sun room and terrace provide a beautiful spaces to sit, eat, relax and enjoy the mountain valley views. There is a small private garden with hedgerow roses to also relax in where you can enjoy the sight and sounds of birds and insects. NB This is a vegetarian fish kitchen ♡ Guests are kindly requested not to prepare or cook meat. No pets please. Assistance dogs very welcome. Freshly laundered bedding and towels are provided as well as warm blankets for cosiness and star gazing! You have sole use of the whole cabin, terrace and garden. Guests self check-in via a key safe any time from 4pm, checkout by 10am. There is a parking place for 1-2 cars in a small site carpark down from the cabin. From there you walk for 2 minutes max up a small gravel path past trees, bushes and other cabins (unsuitable for wheel- or push-chairs). This short journey is the perfect way to unwind in nature as you approach the cabin. There is a park shop (for essentials) + launderette on site, with a new park cafe / bistro due to open this summer which guests have welcome access to. The nearest towns are Dolgellau and Porthmadog for supermarket and other shopping, there is a petrol garage by Trawsfynydd by junction of A470 + Bala road and there are cafes, pubs and restaurants within a short drive. You can contact your host by text, phone or email and Gail will respond quickly and do her best to provide information, help where she can or sort anything out. Friendly, peaceful holiday makers staying in Norwegian style log cabins in a backwater. The cabins are all set on a west facing hillside, with far reaching views of a ridge of mountains from Ysgyfarnogod above Trawsfynydd to the north, to Drws Ardudwy between Rhinog Mawr and Rhinog Fach and on down to Cader Idris in the south. The leisure park is very much an off the beaten track. There is no through- traffic apart from a few local famers and their families and the occasional holiday maker, and everyone loves coming to stay there. Some families have owned their cabins for decades and return again and again. The park has been granted the prestigious Snowdonia National Park dark sky status. You can walk around the park or up the lane to footpaths. You do need to walk 1 minute uphill from the parking place to the cabin on a small gravel path (downhill coming back) which is not suitable for all people. There is a driving speed limit of 15mph within the park in respect of people, children and dog walkers. The park is less than 1km from the main road A470 and beyond the park a single track road leads to local farms in the direction of Bala and footpaths to access the hills. No fires, candles, parties or events. No smoking or vaping in or near the cabin please. If you do bring a BBQ please only use it safely away from the log cabin + decking, being sure to check it is fully extinguished after use. Take all your rubbish to the carpark bins (to not encourage pests). Recycling of plastic, tins etc is greatly encouraged. The park is a quiet place and all holiday makers are requested to respect others by keeping noise to a minimum between 10pm - 8am. Do bring a torch as the path to the cabin is unlit. Binoculars, camera and walking boots are recommended.
