Set in a quiet position in Ironbridge, our cosy 1860s house offers you a comfortable room and a beautiful garden. It’s within easy walking distance of local restaurants and museum sites. The historic village of Ironbridge is set in a steep sided gorge with narrow roads. We are situated at the top. It is a 12 minute drive to Telford town centre, conference venues and train station. Close to the National Cycle Routes we offer a 10% discount for guests arrive by bike or public transport. Bright south facing room with original Coalbrookdale fireplace that comfortably fits two. Across the hallway is your private underfloor heated shower room with toilet, basin and washing machine. Q: is breakfast provided? A: Breakfast is provided in our large kitchen, and typically consists of home cooked bread, jams, fruit, muesli or porridge and if the hens have done their job, eggs. Q: Can I explore your garden? A: Yes guests are encouraged to wander as they wish. Great views, secluded seating areas, flowers and fruit trees. Adjoining the garden is a local nature reserve. Q: Is there somewhere I can store my bike? A: Yes, we have a secure brick bike shed for your cycles or, should you need it use of an off street parking place. Most guests book in after 6.0pm and check out before 11.0am often arranging to drop off bags earlier in the day, in any event we are flexible so please ask. Guests have sole use of the shower room. And you can prepare and eat food in our kitchen dining room Covid guidelines allowing. The upstairs areas are strictly off limits to guests. Guests have: private off street parking. We run a relaxed home and are very pleased to share it with our guests. We have a good knowledge of the area and love to match guests interests with things to see and places to go. We have plenty of leaflets, guides, maps and historical interest books for guests to browse. Ironbridge is where much of the world as we know it began and walking through its narrow streets past old houses and over the Iron bridge itself you can feel it's history. We see and hear none of the noise or sights of modern Telford, however it is handy to have nearby its urban conveniences of cinema and supermarkets. There is lots for visitors to do in the immediate area, also within a 15 mile radius: walking and riding the Shropshire Hills at the Long Mynd; the Severn Valley railway; wander the market towns of Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury, and nearby National Trust properties. Good connections to national motorway and rail network. We are a short taxi ride or 40 minute bus from Telford Central train station. Birmingham Airport (direct train 1.25hrs), Manchester Airport (trains 1.5hrs) London airports via Euston station. Roads in Ironbridge are narrow and steep.
