Built on the forested hillside, and a short 10' walk to the sea, my recently renovated summer house is perfect for relaxed holidays. Set in a large garden, it has this ‘easy-living’ feel to it, with lots of corners to lounge, a perfectly equipped kitchen, and large dining tables for al fresco dining. You are less than 30' drive from the airport, and 45' from Athens, but sitting out on the terrace, listening to the cicadas and looking out to the sea, it feels like you are on an island. The main part of the house is on one level. A large living space has built-in sofas, a dining table, and a semi-open, fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare fantastic meals with locally bought fresh produce. French doors open to the terrace with views to the sea. There are two bedrooms: a spacious master bedroom with a double bed (1.60m, Coco-mat mattress) and a small sofa bed for a child, and a second bedroom with twin beds (which can easily become one large double bed). The master bedroom has a small en-suite shower/WC while there’s also a large (completely redone) bathroom with a walk-in shower. Should you have some work to do (I hope you won’t) and need a desk, there is an additional “study” corner. The two bedrooms have ceiling fans, and there are two ceiling fans in the living space which keep the place cool in the summer. In addition, the house has two small but comfortable "garden" rooms (with lower than average ceilings), opening directly to the garden. They are on a separate floor and have no direct access to the main house (you need to go up some steps). One has a double bed (1.40m) and the other has two single beds (0.80m). The one with the two single beds is better suited for children or young adults. From 2021 this will be a single room PLEASE NOTE: the rental price for up to four (or five in case the extra bed in the master bedroom is used) people does not include the use of the two summer/garden rooms. The price for up to five or six people includes the use of one of the summer/garden rooms, and the price for seven or eight people includes the use of both extra rooms. The house will be yours and only yours to use and enjoy and you will have access to all areas of the property (the two summer/garden bedrooms only if rented as explained above; but no-one else will be using them of course if you are not renting them). You will have many spots for lounging, eating, reading and even sunbathing. I won’t be there, but we will be available if you need any information or assistance. We’ll be just an email or a phone call away. The house is in a super quiet spot overlooking the sea, in Chamolia, a few km from the archaeological site of Vravrona. The road is unpaved, so there is no traffic passing at all. The sea, a small beach and a café & taverna are a 10 minute walk or 1-minute drive down the hill (a little more to walk back up probably). For shopping you can drive to Porto Rafti, 6 km from the house, but before heading to the supermarket, check the stalls on the road nearby selling fresh produce growing in the fields right behind them! It is strongly suggested you rent a car when staying at my house. The local taverna, the sea and several small beaches are at walking distance from the house, but there is no public transportation or shops nearby. You will find plenty of shops, restaurants and places to go for drinks (and more beaches) in and near Porto Rafti and Loutsa (Artemis). Both are at a ten-minutes drive from Vravrona. Downtown Athens and all of its attractions, as well as the Athens airport, are easily and rapidly accessible by car. If you don’t like idea of driving into town, you can drive in 20 minutes to the train station of Koropi, leave your car there and take the train to the centre. Trains leave every half hour and take 30 minutes to Syntagma Square, the very heart of Athens. The house and the setting are ideal for family vacations and I very much welcome children in the house. Please be aware, however, that the main terrace is a couple of metres above the garden level and is only partly secured, and there are also stairs to the roof of the house. Toddlers, therefore, need supervision.
