Stunning 5bd/4b fully renovated farmhouse w/ pool

Our lovingly renovated farmhouse has lots of space for a large family and/or group of friends. It has everything you need for a restful country holiday: very well-equipped kitchen, huge terrace, hikes from the doorstep and easy access to historic towns nearby. Our house is a large, fully renovated, fabulous family home that we renovated to be able to welcome guests and family. We can comfortably sleep 10+ people in five bedrooms (four double and one with twin beds that can be joined). There are three full bathrooms and one extra toilet downstairs. The kitchen is a mix between modern and traditional, amodern style kitchen with a small bar, a very large farmhouse-style dining area and all modern appliances. Although we have central heating, we also have a wood burner in the upstairs living room. Our small village is a beautifully tranquil place located on a river, with a supermarket and most amenities ten minutes away. We have the best of all worlds here ...we are away from it all but not isolated. Pace of life is very relaxed here: lunches can go on for hours, and the food in the local markets is spectacular. Our house is particularly welcoming to children - we have three of our own - so we have all the toys, strollers, high chairs, baby cots, tricycles, etc you could need. We have a large, safe trampoline, a fenced inground pool and a large play area with two swings, a playhouse and a slide. It is a wonderful place from which to explore the southwest of France - just 2.5 hours from the beaches on the west coast and 45 min from the Pyrenees mountains. The third largest city in France, Toulouse, is 1.5 hours away. You can visit the Airbus factories, go skiing, swim in the Atlantic - all are feasible day trips. Our family lives close enough to help out if necessary, and there are fabulous hikes and trails from the doorstep! Guests will have use of the entire house. Le Chalet is set in a small village, within a few minutes’ drive of the shops, restaurants and supermarkets of Castelnau-Magnoac, Trie-Sur-Baise or Masseube. A water park is just 25 mins away in Mirande, which also has a supermarket, restaurants and a popular country music club. Beautiful medieval Tillac is 25 min away and Marciac (and its famous Jazz Festival) is 35mins (25kms) away. A large lake, perfect for picnics is also less than 10 mins drive away. The picturesque cathedral town of Auch is just over half an hour away and is home to a good selection of boutiques and restaurants. There are three 18 hole golf courses, horse/pony riding nearby which is highly recommended and white water rafting at the foot of the Pyrenees. We keep a large folder of suggestions and advice on places to visit and things to do locally, in the house, and are also on hand “virtually” to assist with any special arrangements. The garden is huge - more like a field. Room for football games, to roam, camp or just chill out on our south facing terrasse in the blissful sunshine which is almost guaranteed from May to November. In winter Le Chalet is a great stopping off point en route to or from the Pyrenees with a plethora of exciting winter sports opportunities. We have family living in the same village, and they are available to provide advice or help out if needed. Our house is in the southern part of the Gers. The Gers is one of the most unspoiled regions in France, and is considered one of the last truly rural areas of the country. If you love farmers' markets, incredible produce, hiking, fishing, historic villages and scenic driving, this is the place for a perfect vacation. A rental car is necessary when staying in the area. There is ample parking at the house. There are two regional and international airports close by: Tarbes, 40min and Toulouse, 1h30min. Exclusive and private access to the house, gardens, 10x5 metre pool, fruit trees, with riverfront access as well. We are not on site but are happy to answer any questions. You will find rolling countryside, acres of sunflowers, total peace and quiet (except for the occasional tractor), amazing locally sourced food - including ducks raised right next door! (but not too close, have no fear!)
