Coco Hut with AC - Coco Oasis Boutique Lodge

Coco Oasis is a lovely little lodge in the heart of lively Bakau, The Gambia. It has six huts and a swimming pool & a bar. Bakau is one of the most popular tourist destinations in The Gambia, but in there you also have an unique opportunity to experience local life. There are good services and many restaurants & bars in Bakau. Some of the best beaches are less than 1 km away. There is an easy access from Coco Oasis to anywhere is The Gambia and we also organize trips. Welcome! All the huts have one bedroom, a living room, a bathroom and a kitchenette. There is a shared swimming pool and a pool area for the guests. The hut has a bedroom with a double bed, night tables and a reading lamp, a lounge chair and a wardrack. A living room has a seating area with a coffee table and two arm chairs & a sofa bed. A kitchennette in the living room has a small fridge, a water boiler and cooking plate, as well as a basic kitchenware for cooking and eating. A bathroom has a toilet, a sink and a shower with hot water. There is a terrace on the front of the hut with a table and two chairs. There are comfortable sun beds with sun umbrellas around the swimming pool to relax. We have a pool bar offering drinks and snacks. We have a jeep and we offer airport transportation and organize trips to most popular sight seeing and tourist destinations in The Gambia. There are taxis on the street front of the lodge and the local busses also have a stop near by. It's easy to walk anywhere around Bakau and to the beaches. The lodge is located in Bakau, the most developed town in The Gambia. It’s in the heart of the town, just a few hundred meters from the beach opposite of it and around the restaurants, cafes and bars. It is next to the craft market and a less than a kilometer walk to the Cape Point and a crocodile park. There is a five star hotel and many fine restaurants in the area, but also local restaurants and entertainment available.The lodge is situated in the area where there are tourist attractions and locals living, and it offers unique opportunity to experience the best of The Gambia and the both sides of it. Please remember that Gambia is one of the poorest countries in the world and developing country. The water, electricity and wifi don't work all the time. Also it can be a bit of a shock on the beginning to see the enviroment. The standard of cleaness etc. are not same as in European or the western world's. The lodge's location is excellent. It's within a walking from all the attractions in Bakau: beaches, restaurants, bars, craft market and crocodile park. It is also just a few kilometers away from Fajara's golf and tennis club and the restaurants in Fajara. The lodge offers it's clients Jeep and driver to rent for a day as well as airport pick up and drop off. We also organize trips to all the tourist attractions and some secret spots in Gambia and one day or overnight safari trips to Fathala, Senegal. Please tell us, if you would like to have a room with AC. The extra cost for a room with AC is 10 e per day. We have our own borehole, which secures the water for the guests. The tanks are filled between 11 PM and 7 AM at nights. During that time there is no running water. Our electricity comes from national electricity company Nawac. In Bakau electricity usually works pretty fine. But sometimes there are short power cuts. We have the biggest device and the fastest wifi connection available in The Gambia. That usually works, but it is slow at peak times (usually on the evenings between 7 PM- 12 PM). We always recommend our guest who are dependent on wifi also to buy Africell SIM-card and to upload some megabites to that, so you can also use your own connection when wifi is slow or not working. The Gambia is a developing country and the standards of the water, electricity, wifi, cleaning and the service are not the same level as in the Western world. We hope you understand that.
