Athelstone House
The house is nestled inside "Adelaide's Secret Valley" 11km from the CBD, with off-street parking on the property, which the owner shares with her Adopted Grey Hound. One of the earliest houses in the Adelaide area, it is situated inside the Linear Park, over-looking the River Torrens, with the jogging/bike track nearby. It is a heritage-listed property, and was the original farmhouse built soon after settlement of the state. While gentle conservation work is being carried out on the fabric of the house, it has all the necessary conveniences for a comfortable stay. However, if you are into "glitz" it may not be the place for you. Guests have their own bathroom next to the bedroom, with shower and spa bath. External access to the bedroom is separate from the main entrance to the house, and the beds are adjustable electric. Coffee/tea/soup making facilities are provided.
