Located in the village of Vimieiro, Douro Valley, 300 m from the river, it is an old restored cottage house, built in the 19th century and retaining many of its original features. Space with garden, extensive lawn and private swimming pool, allows to enjoy peace and beautiful landscape. Located 1 hour from the airport and from three regions classified as World Heritage: Porto, Guimarães and Douro Wine Region. The Paiva River Walkways and the beautiful city of Amarante are only 40 minutes away. Rural house with private and discreet domain, swimming pool, extensive lawn, flowery garden and fruit trees, is a confortable space, ideal for relaxing after pedestrians walks or travel by car around the region. The warm late afternoon in the summer, the relax after swimming in the pool followed by delicious grilled in the barbeque and the magical landscape of the Douro, are attractive not to be missed. It also allows you to enjoy a beautiful view over the river Douro. Guests have access to all the spaces belonging to the house. Respect for privacy is very important. However, we are available to give suggestions and advice on how best to enjoy the region in terms of culture, gastronomy, radical activities, leisure. We have particular interest in history, geology, archeology, geography, ethnography. We can offer very interesting suggestions on these topics. Casa do Vimieiro is in the quiet village of the same name, 300 meters from Douro river, in Sande, Marco de Canaveses. Driving during 7 minutes, we have access to restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacy etc. But, one of the main characteristics is the location: beyond the modesty and quiet provided by the place, access to fun, culture and typical gastronomy is very easy: canoeing on the river Douro or Tâmega, walks along the Paiva River, golf sports, Water Park, Restaurants with Michelin Stars, Historical Trains, regions classified as World Heritage (Porto, Guimarães, Douro Wine Region), Amarante City, all this is easily accessible (about 1 hour or less).
